The Times of Israel reports that Israeli air defenses intercepted Hezbollah rockets and a fighter jet shot down a drone heading into Israel overnight, as fighting along Israel’s northern border showed no sign of slowing yesterday (2/24/2024).
An attack on Kiryat Shmona, near Galilee, came roughly two hours following Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including a weapons depot.
Hezbollah is now attacking Israel on a daily basis, causing the IDF to fight Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah to the north. The IDF is increasingly striking deeper into Lebanon, as Hezbollah’s presence along Israel’s northern border, where the conflict has displaced tens of thousands of persons, is not acceptable to Israel.

My brothers and sisters, while much of the world continues to wring its hands and speak of the need for a “two-state solution” to the problem of the Palestinians within Israel and their apparent inability to self-rule in Gaza absent the support of terrorists, Israel is on the cusp of completely defeating Hamas. Not only this, but it is doing so while having to fight another, similar, Iran-backed terrorist group to the north – Hezbollah.
War is hell and should not be a position of first choice, but when necessary, it must be prosecuted to its fullest extent and fought with the end game being victory. Israel is showing the world its resolve to defend its homeland and protect its citizens, against all enemies, including the evil one himself – even in the face of well-meaning but misguided Western nations.
As believers, let’s pray for a just, decisive and quick end to hostilities, resulting in the safety of Israel, its people, and its neighbors. Let’s pray that the Palestinian people would become willing to seek peace within its communities and with its neighbors, including Israel.
