As more Americans become aware of the horrific consequences of embracing the lies of “transgender” ideology, especially for children, many conservative and Christian majority states have passed laws to protect their children.
One such state is Idaho. Like many other states, Idaho wanted to protect children from so-called “gender-affirming” care forced on them by adults suffering from Munchausen by proxy that would cause irreversible harm.
Days before the law was set to go into effect in December, Federal District Judge B. Lynn Winmill ruled that it violated the 14th Amendment, blocking the state from enforcing any aspect of the bill.
Idaho has filed an emergency motion with the United States Supreme Court to overturn the ruling, and nineteen other states’ attorneys general, led by Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, have filed a 36-page amicus brief supporting the appeal.
Why should Christians be concerned with this? Many people would argue that this is politics and that Christians, especially Christian pastors, should stay out of such controversies. I know this to be true as I have personally seen people I care about leave bible believing churches over this and other issues, including abortion and the whole array of LGBTQ etc. issues.
From a biblical worldview, this is an issue of worshiping the creation or the Creator. The Lord has stated in His word that He created us male and female, that He designed marriage to be between one man and one woman, and that life begins at conception.
As Christians, do we accept that Jesus is truly the way, the truth, and the life? If we really believe that? Do we accept that He establishes what truth is and that it is not subjective? Do we further believe that we should protect the weak from those who would do them harm when we can?
Pastors have an obligation to uphold truth and oppose lies. We must point out that there is a way that seems right to a man, but that way leads to destruction.
That is exactly what the evil butchers of transgenderism desire to force upon children, destruction. They hope to destroy the minds, hearts, and bodies of defenseless kids and the weak-minded adults who parent them.
We should also understand that just as with Israel before the nation was turned over to the Assyrians and the Babylonians, the canary in the coal mine was the righteousness (or lack thereof) of their clergy and judges.
As more of our clergy and judges today buy into the agenda of Satan and reject biblical truths and principles, the more the people follow them down the wide path to destruction.
It was the Supreme Court that gave us widescale abortion, national same-sex marriage, and more. It is unbiblical clergy that have allowed easy divorce, sex outside of marriage, abortion, and much more.
So while it is important what SCOTUS decides on whether states have the right to stop the mutilation and sterilization of children, it is also important what pastors and Christian leaders do too.
