KRQE News 13 (Albuquerque, NM) reports that a continuing, nationwide cyberattack is making it difficult for military clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and anyone on TRICARE (the worldwide health care program for uniformed service members, retirees and their families) to receive their medical prescriptions.
John Fishel, a U.S. Navy veteran and Albuquerque resident, told KRQE News 13 that it’s been difficult to get medication at the Kirtland Air Force Base Pharmacy for a few weeks. His questions resulted only in automated responses, reportedly stating that “the system is down” and “we are no longer [processing] new or renewal prescriptions until further notice.”

According to February 23, 2024 report published on Military.com, Change Healthcare, one of the largest prescription processors in the United States, first disclosed the cyberattack February 21, 2024 and suspected that a nation-state was behind the attack. The outage has caused disruptions at retail pharmacies across the United States and military pharmacies are filling prescriptions manually, according to a statement released from the Defense Health Agency.

My brothers and sisters, cyberattacks are crimes – plain and simple. And, there are life-and-death ramifications whenever medical care and prescription availability are disrupted or negated.
Let’s pray that the violating entity or nation is caught and appropriately prosecuted (or otherwise managed), as lives depend upon it. Let’s also pray for protection upon all who are having difficulties obtaining timely medical prescriptions and that no injuries or deaths would result. Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus!
Matthew 18:18-20 (NKJV)
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again[,] I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
