An online PBS News Hour article reports that most of America “springs forward” Sunday (3/10/2024) for Daylight Saving Time (“DST”). Losing that hour of sleep can do more than leave you tired and cranky the next day, it could also harm your health.
Darker mornings and more evening light together knock your body clock out of whack — which means DST can usher in sleep trouble for weeks or longer. Studies have even found an uptick in heart attacks and strokes right after the March time change.
DST begins tomorrow morning (3/10/2024) at 2:00 AM and will revert to standard time again on November 3, 2024. Hawaii and most of Arizona don’t make the spring switch, sticking to standard time all year, along with Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
