Hosanna And Then Five Days Later…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Today is Palm Sunday. This is the day that Jesus road into Jerusalem on a donkey and folks were waving their palm branches and laying them down before him. They were shouting Hosanna: meaning Lord be our Savior. Some of these same people five days later were screaming crucify him, crucify him. My how people can change so quickly. In today’s world we call it Jekyll and Hyde.
Maybe that has been your experience beautiful people. You started strong with friendships, then their words came, and you were hurt or bruised. These same people that were your friends is now causing you pain. Maybe even some jealousy has crept in the relationship. My how things can change in five days. It did for Jesus, and you may experience or maybe have already experienced that as well. God has victory for you today.
A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope. Matthew 12:20-21.
With Jesus we will never hear him say crucify them, because he has paid the price, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We will only see God’s goodness and victory. Amen?
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you that we can live our lives in and through you. We have been crucified with Christ and we no longer live, but Christ lives in us. The life we now live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us. Galatians 2:20
Father, although you were facing death, we have full assurance you rose again in just three days for the justification to God for man’s sins. Your life paid it all.
Father, we will praise you with the highest praise forever. Amen.
