Viewing the world through a biblical lens often results in seeing things we just can’t see otherwise, such as the intersection of current events, biblical principles, and prophecy.
Now understand that prophecy can be a rabbit hole many believers can lose themselves. That is why we should always keep the gospel and the way of Jesus front and center of any discussion about future events.
Take, for instance, totalitarianism (please, take it). Why is so much of the world given over to dictators and despots? As so-called democracies allow themselves to devolve into the worse forms of government due to their moral decay, we see a real loss of liberty and fairness in the way the law is applied.
The biblical principles of the Deuteronomy 28 curse, the Romans 1 debased mind, and the 2 Thessalonians 2 deception prepare the world for the breaking of the first seal in Revelation 6.
That first seal is the ultimate charismatic dictator known as the Antichrist. What is needed for this dictator to take the reins of power and have a system that is already more or less in place to capture the hearts and minds of the people as well as control the economy, religion, and much more?
According to scripture, there must be a great falling away from God’s truth and righteousness. There must also be a willingness to embrace sin and believe great lies. We already see this at work in our world today, especially in Western societies that once held to the truth of the Gospel and the morality that came with it.
If we pay attention, we can see the groundwork being laid for the economic system that causes a manmade famine where a day’s work will barely buy a day’s worth of food. The World Economic Forum and world governments are doing yeomen’s work for the Antichrist.
The religion of the Antichrist is also taking root worldwide as people are moving away from the truth in favor of empty spiritualism to eventually make room for the world’s fastest-growing form of idol worship, known as Islam.
Dictators and other totalitarians are sprouting up all over the world with flashes of resistance from time to time. Even in the United States, we are seeing greater willingness to give up our liberty and submit to oppressive leaders in the name of safety and democracy.
On the left, governors and President Biden are claiming more power over people in the name of DEI, racial justice, and democracy. Even claiming that to have free speech and free religion, we must limit and control it.
On the right, conservative leaders and former President Trump are going to have to seize more control to fight the administrative state and liberal courts, thereby destroying the very democracy they hope to preserve.
At the same time, we will continue to see more and more polarization and radicalization on both sides, and both sides, we will see people becoming less liberal and less conservative.
At this point, we start to wonder if all hope is lost. Should we bury our heads in the sand and wait for the rapture?
God forbid.
Jesus is returning soon, and He is truly our only hope, but we are to occupy until He comes. We are not yet in the time of the Tribulation. But during the Tribulation, there will be believers who will not bow the knee to the Antichrist and take his mark. They also keep their testimony in Jesus Christ and His commandments, as He said He also expected of us.
It’s true that the world will get worse and that we will see the United States go down the same path if things do not change, but Christians are to become better and better and let their light shine in the darkness to leave the world without excuse.
