The Wisdom of the World vs. The Wisdom of God
The wisdom of the world tells us that everything is fine and anything goes, so long as it makes YOU happy. What we think in our human minds is often carnal and soulish! Is that really wisdom? Do carnal and soulish thoughts bring truth, joy and strength? As Apostle Paul would say, CERTAINLY NOT!
Sadly, so many in this world simply refuse to even CONSIDER that Jesus is the Answer, let alone humble themselves and accept the truth of the scriptures. I submit to you that the joy of the Lord is beyond our understanding, but it’s so very necessary! Even in times of sickness, death or tragedy, by the Holy Spirit within us, and because of the joy within our hearts, we’re strengthened and able to make wise decisions. You see, the bible says that it’s the joy of the Lord which brings us strength! Amen!
Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV)
“…Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
So what is true wisdom?
My brothers and sisters, I to submit to you that the “Truth” is a Person and His name is Jesus! The name of Jesus is the ONLY name by which man can be saved!
Acts 4:12 (Amplified Bible)
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV)
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 3:18-19 (NKJV)
“Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, ‘He catches the wise in their own craftiness…’”. [This is what happens when one is too smart for one’s own good!]
The name of Jesus is above ALL other names. In His name is unimaginable, unlimited POWER and SALVATION! He is the Son of God; the King of kings; the Lord of lords; the Firstborn Over Creation; the Alpha and the Omega; the Lover Of Our Souls; our Savior; our Lord; and our God! For He is TRUTH! Jesus is the Creator!
John 1:1-3 (NKJV)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
If you know Jesus as Lord and Savior, then you have the privilege to be called “a child of God” and to walk in His incredible love and peace, without the fear of man and in His strength – even when our lives seem to be falling apart! We can TRUST in Jesus! Unlike you and me, Jesus will always be faithful!
The most often missed TRUTH in this world is found in the very BEST DOCTRINE ever written – John 14:6. As a New Testament believer, if you don’t agree with this scripture, then on what basis do you consider yourself a Christian? In fact, asserting that there may be other ways to eternal life puts you at risk of leading others to perdition!
John 14:6 (NKJV)
“Jesus said to [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Jesus told Thomas that there is one way to salvation and eternal life, and that is through Jesus – AND JESUS ONLY. No one, THEN or NOW, is reconciled unto the Father (because of our sin) except by the sinless blood of Jesus shed upon the cross of Calvary and the righteousness of Christ which we carry as believers. This is the God-given gift of salvation we receive by grace through faith in Jesus Christ!
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
My brothers and sisters, that should settle the matter! AND YET, so many choose to walk in their chains instead of the knowledge of the truth and the freedom offered to those who believe upon the name of Jesus!
John 8:31-32 (ESV)
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘[i]f you abide in [M]y word, you are truly [M]y disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
You see, the wisdom of the world focuses on the temporary things of the flesh and the physical aspects of our world and our lives, but the TRUTH is found in the joy, power and eternity that exists only in Jesus Christ, who lives in us through the Holy Spirit! This is the TRUTH of the gospel!
