My long-time mentor, Pastor Don Kimbro who recently passed into the arms of JESUS, taught me so very much. Don and me both shared our frustration with todays Church. Don would state many times, “Dewey, todays Church is focused on ‘butts in the seats’ rather than the Great Commission.” Butts and Buildings by Pastor Don Kimbro. Don could see this failure of planting seeds for JESUS and watering them. The failure to baptize and help raise up mature Christians. The workers are few. Many Pastors love their walls. We need more Don’s!
I have come to comfort the inflicted and inflict the comfortable. Why Churches Talk the Great Commission But Don’t Do It
Sharon and I just got off the road from another Great Commission trip, this time to Arizona. We focused around the Phoenix and Sedona area. We go where God calls us to. We met so many wonderful people! ! I estimate that we had contact with nearly 400 or more people, I am so excited! Two in home visits! We always share the love of JESUS with all people! Love others as the Lord loves us! We heard why folks do not belong to a Church any longer. Many are not interested in organized religion. They see stories like this on Dr. Martin King, and it confirms in their minds that Christians spew hate. What does John MacArthur have to gain from hating on Dr. Martin Luther King? How are we ever to have unity in the Church and America???!!! The Church in America is failing. Politics is a big part of it, many Pastors support evil politicians, just like an unbelieving America wants to see. We leave our walls and listen to all people. Do you carry out The Great Commission? Do you not know that JESUS and His Disciples walked!
Sharon and I visited with a news reporter on our trip, she now is in her 80’s, a journalist, who has covered the news in America since the 60’s. For her protection I am not using her name. She stated to us that we are living in the most dangerous time in the world since WW II. I have stated the same. The Church no longer has the influence that is needed at this very ugly time to come to the aide of the world. Many Christians do not share the love of JESUS!
FGGAM builds bridges of love and trust with an unbelieving word! We do not preach to the choir.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:
just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.
–John 13:34-35
I am sick and tired of it. Organized religion has failed. Sharon and I see it. The Lord has shown us. Too many have made a lot of money off of JESUS! WOW! There will be a price to pay!
When will this hate and greed stop?
Churchleaders
Christian leaders debated the theological beliefs of civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr. with renewed passion over the weekend after an article defending King began circulating online on Friday (March 8).
The question of whether King, who was an ordained Baptist minister, held to orthodox Christian teaching has long been disputed among Christians. However, the conversation sparked fresh interest in February, which is Black History Month, after California pastor John MacArthur declared during a Q&A session that King “wasn’t a Christian at all” and that his “life was immoral.” Story Here

From Adrian Rogers:
One reason some people don’t believe the Word of God is the mistaken idea that it’s not relevant; it’s not important; or it cannot apply to our current day and age. The problem with this logic is it is not theology, it is “me-ology.” They’re simply thinking about themselves.
This is not only a matter for non-Christians, but it is also a problem in our churches today. There are those who say they believe the Bible. These people give lip service to the fact that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, authentic Word of God. But they don’t study it; they don’t know it; they don’t live by it; they don’t assimilate it; and they don’t stand on it. In the end their problem is the same: They are only thinking about themselves and what they want God to be. There is dust on their Bibles and drought in their hearts. It’s important for you to say, “I know that I know that the Bible is the Word of God.” But it means nothing if you don’t live like that is true.
May I encourage you today, dive deep into the Word of God. If you follow Jesus, know His Word! Somebody said, the truth of the Gospel is so deep scholars could swim and never touch the bottom, yet so wonderful that a little child could come and get a drink of water without fear of drowning. That is God’s precious, holy Word.
