I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
Revelation 3:15-16
To the lukewarm Christian; God is calling you to fully give your life to him. He needs your heart completely. There is no time to waste.
First of all, you’re missing out on the glorious things Christ has for you.
Secondly, when you’re separated from God, Satan has a foothold and remember, he came to steal to kill and destroy.
He did not come to mess around. He didn’t just come to play games. He came to kill to steal and to destroy.
Don’t let the things of the world weigh you down. Money, riches, finances and bigger and better things.
Store up for yourself treasures in heaven.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
Luke warm Christianity, I call it fence sitting.
Before we know it, we are on the fence and indecisive.
Fence sitting is a waste of time, nothing good ever comes of it.
Fence sitting has you going back and forth between Jesus and the world. Because remember, the world tells you you can live however you want and do whatever you want and everything will be alright.
But, they forget to tell you the consequences of living like that. And you could potentially spend eternity separated from God. They don’t mention that!
The fence is not a very comfortable place to sit and it can get lonely there. You procrastinate on that fence, and frankly, we have no time to waste!
The fence is a place where nothing gets done. So, why do we sit there?
I believe, for most, it’s because they love their lifestyle and do not want to give it up, regardless of the consequences. Eternal or otherwise.
I’ve heard it said before that we use God as ‘fire insurance.’ We don’t want to go to hell, but we don’t want to live our life for him completely either.
In essence, we don’t want to give up the sin we hold so dear. And that sin is different for everybody, but sin cannot be allowed in heaven. So hanging onto that sin will be eternally disastrous.
That is not OK, we need to have a relationship with Jesus Christ that’s authentic and constant.
The opening scripture should be enough to scare us off of that fence. God said to choose one or the other or he will “spit us out of his mouth.” That’s drastic!
I know we often hear; “I’m an adult” or “it’s my own life”, “I’m gonna do me.” “I’ll pick a side later.” “I still have time to choose him, later” or the most used quote ever, “ I’m a good person.”
But folks, we’re running out of time!
You see, while you’re free to make your own choices, you do not get to choose the consequences of those choices.
Bad or undecided choices mess up your destiny and you may leave a legacy that your children need to recover from.
if you haven’t completely chosen Christ, you’ve already chosen against Him
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Matthew 12:30
James 4:17 says: “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”
Joshua 24:15 says, “Choose ye this day for yourself whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the lord “
Today is the day we choose God because tomorrow is not promised.
Today is the day we hop off that fence and we sincerely follow Christ, with everything we have.
“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
2 Corinthians 6:2
There is no chance in eternity to change your destiny. No one will force you off that fence, but there will be a consequence.
He loves us, and he’s waiting for us.
Many blessings,
Connie
