Today’s Daily Devotional
PRAY OVER THIS
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
PONDER THIS
I love to come to church on Sunday morning. Some people say, “You don’t have to go to church to love God, and you don’t have to go to church to be a good Christian.” But there’s one thing wrong with that: it’s just not true. Now, obviously, some people are sick and cannot come; God knows their hearts. But every community of believers is important to God. The Church is the bride of Christ! If you have no desire to be with the saints down here on Earth, you have little hope of being with the saints up there in heaven.
By making church a priority, you’re saying two things: God is important to me, and my brothers and sisters in Christ are important to me. Not only is God important to me, but we are important to one another. The Church should be important to us because it’s so important to God.
- How do you engage with your church community?
- How has your church community influenced your life?
