George Barna: “People have become more selfish, churches have become less influential, pastors have become less Bible-centric”

I do not sell ice cream…….I am a servant of GOD.

I do not know how any Christian can proclaim victory here in America when just 4% of us have a Biblical Worldview! Only 37% of Pastor have a Biblical Worldview! PLUS! 46% of U.S. Adults are unchurched! More Here

If you ever have heard me on radio and TV, I have been screaming from the rooftops for years about the research of George Barna! I see it! As a circuit preacher I see so many things that make me sad. No baptisms, less than 15 people in some Churches, NO CHILDREN IN CHURCH! OUCH! NO SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN! UNBELIEVABLE! BUT I SEE IT! As Sharon and I travel we hear it all the time, “We believe in Jesus, but we do not go to Church.”

The American Church is full of Pastors and leaders that have such big egos! They put the focus on themselves, NOT JESUS and a Biblical Worldview! I am not a popular Pastor WITH THE WORLD, because I am not of this WORLD! I hardly can stand Facebook anymore, too much bragging about “LOOK WHAT I DID!” Yes, and we are falling into hell as a nation. Do you have a Biblical Worldview?

I believe that I have bragged a bit too much on Facebook at times. I am trying to change my ways. The Lord has shown me to stop that! I have prayed and repented. I want people to see JESUS in me.

GOT QUESTIONS STATES: True boasting in the Lord is actually boasting of the Lord—boasting of His great attributes, boasting of what He has done for us, of what He is still doing and of what He has promised to do. As Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight,’ declares the LORD.” More Here

I am stunned, that few Pastors are addressing these issues that Barna has been talking about for years now! So many Churches have become a clubhouse. They are not reaching the lost. They have failed in carrying out The Great Commission. (THE GREATEST FAILURE OF THE CHURCH FOR DECADES! Many Pastors love preaching to the choir I guess!

This is not just from me for heavens sake! I hear it from people that have left the Church, in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Minnesota, and South Dakota! These are the states we have traveled to in the last 3 years in carrying out The Great Commission. Being on the streets with everyday Americans will teach you a lot about why people do not go to Church anymore. I have had friends that have left their respective Churches of late. Barna is right on in his research!

I have spoken and written about these problems for years. I have righteous anger about it! I see the same failures playing out every week. I am not here to be popular. I loose friends from time to time about my Biblical stances. I am not here to entertain you. I am here to comfort the inflicted and inflict the comfortable, as is Pastor Tony Tice: More Here

Don’t get me started on Church splits, Pastor cliques, (I am not in one! HA!) Pastors accusing other Pastors of taking their members, I am too old for that stuff. I could write a book on the Good, Bad and Ugly of the Church! I have had quite an education in Christian radio dealing with Pastors and ministries of all sorts, business people that called themselves Christians nd did not pay their bill! Ha! and then as a circuit preacher and as a news reporter here FGGAM. God has shown me a lot, God is the best educator!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — George Barna, a leading expert in church and worldview trends, has weighed in on some of the biggest issues facing the Church — including the steady decrease in a biblical worldview and dwindling concern for spiritual formation — at a time of “Christian invisibility in our culture.”

In an interview with The Christian Post, the 69-year-old founder of The Barna Group, a market research firm specializing in studying Americans’ religious beliefs and behaviors that he sold in 2009, said that over the last few decades, he’s seen certain negative trends increasingly permeate Western Christianity. The Rest of The Story Here
