Germany Says It Would Arrest Israel’s Prime Minister If International Criminal Court Issues Warrant

The Jerusalem Post reports this morning that Steffen Hebestreit, spokesman for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, was asked yesterday (5/22/2024) if the German government would execute an International Criminal Court (“ICC”) arrest order against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged war crimes.  Hebestreit’s response was “of course.  Yes.  We abide by the law.”

Yesterday, Israel’s Ambassador to Berlin, Ron Prosor, was rebuffed by Chancellor Scholz’ government after Prosor made a dramatic appeal on “X” (formerly Twitter) to the German government to completely reject the legitimacy of the ICC.  Prosor stated, in part, that “the Chief Prosecutor [of the ICC] equates a democratic government with Hamas, thereby demonizing and delegitimizing Israel and the Jewish people.  He has completely lost his moral compass.  Germany has a responsibility to readjust this compass.”

As The Jerusalem Post noted, and as is a matter of record internationally, the ICC was formed in response to Nazi Germany’s extermination of six million Jews.  Germany is a generous donor to the ICC.  The possibility that a German government would arrest and deport an Israeli prime minister and defense minister if they stepped foot on German soil – in light of the country’s history with Hitler and WWII – has triggered shocking reports in the German media and on social media.

The Jerusalem Post report may be read in full HERE.

FGGAM recently reported on the potentially forthcoming arrest warrants from the ICC.  The article may be read HERE.

My brothers and sisters, please do not allow the world’s recently emboldened actions against Israel and the Jewish people, and the apparent repeating of history to become tiresome or viewed as background chatter!  The importance is almost impossible to overstate.

For those of us who are old enough to have experienced or learned from previous generations the history of WWII, the Holocaust, and the establishment of Israel, the ongoing events regarding the Israel-Hamas War and recent positions taken by the United Nations and now the ICC are startling at best, and reflect clear evil influence!

So far as Israel is concerned, we should never forget that it is the only democratic (free) and true ally the United States has in the entire Middle East.  It is also the only Jewish country and homeland in the entire WORLD, and it is surrounded by enemies which would like nothing more than to wipe it off the face of the earth, along with the entire population of the Jewish people.

FGGAM and this writer stands with Israel and against evil.  The Jewish people are God’s chosen people.  The resurgence of antisemitism, worldwide, must not be allowed to stand.  Pray with and speak to your children about Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Land (Israel), because the true love of God and His salvation is found only through faith in Jesus Christ.  NOTHING could be more important!

The Christian believer has the Holy Spirit within, bringing godly understanding and wisdom, which the world does not have and cannot comprehend (see John 15:26, John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:16 and Titus 3:1-6):

John 15:26 (NKJV)
The Holy Spirit Proceeds from the Father and Testifies of Jesus
“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me [Jesus].”

John 16:13 (NKJV)
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

1 Corinthians 2:16 (Amplified Bible)
“For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].”

Titus 3:1-6 (Amplified Bible)
Godly Living
“Remind people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready and willing to do good, to slander or abuse no one, to be kind and conciliatory and gentle, showing unqualified consideration and courtesy toward everyone.  For we too once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various sinful desires and pleasures, spending and wasting our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.  But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared [in human form as the Man, Jesus Christ], He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit [emphasis mine], whom He poured out richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior…”.

Following the lessons learned during WWII, and in the face of increasing antisemitism and hate spreading globally, including upon college campuses, the United States would do well to remember what God has to say about His chosen people:

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
The LORD said to Abram (later Abraham):  “I will bless those who bless you, [a]nd I will curse him who curses you; [a]nd in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself [emphasis mine], a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion [Jerusalem]!  For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
