The violin is known to be a sensitive, resonate instrument that produces beautiful music…especially when joined with others.   The violinist knows that in order to produce its full resonance and vibration of tone, the right strings are important.  These are called ‘tested strings.’

Tested strings are put through a special process.  First they are put on a rack and stretched and strained in order to take away any vacillation.   Then they are hammered profusely and put through an acid test.  This process ensures the strings will produce a full, and perfect tone. Once the strings are attached to the violin and tuned, the sound is warmer and richer than with ordinary strings.

We humans also tend to vacillate.  Our moods go from up to down, positive to negative, with each change of circumstance…or for no reason at all.  This vacillation hinders our ability to meet the fullest of God’s expectations for us.  He wants to see us grow and produce beautiful music for Him by sharing His love with others.  In order to do this and get the spiritual tone He desires from us, we too are tested.

The trials and tribulations we go through are God’s testing process… a toning of our spirits.   Though we don’t enjoy the stretching, straining and the stress these tests bring, we can be assured that the final results will produce God-fearing, soul-loving Christ followers who, alone or when joined with others who have also been tested, will bring glory and honor to God.

Like the violin is to the violinist, we are sensitive, precious instruments to our Lord.  With loving hands and the utmost care He protects and watches over us, seeing us through each trial and turning our stress into positive action… producing in us a pure heart…and we can sing along with Psalm 66:10  For you, o God, have tested us. You have refined us as silver is refined.

Let us make beautiful music for Him.

Betty Fritz
My name is Betty Fritz. I was born and raised in Texas but have resided in Elkhart, Indiana for the last 25 years. My husband is a Hoosier so that’s how we wound up here. We have two daughters and a son plus 6 grand kids…..3 boys and 3 girls. I retired last year after working for 24 years at Elkhart Child Development Center. I’ve been writing since a teenager and have taken several writing courses. I enjoy writing short stories. I wrote a book of poems, RHYMES OF THE TIMES, which was published a few years ago. I have written countless songs, a few for which demo recordings have been made. Recently I’ve been writing blogs..most of them about my faith and things the Lord has taught me in my Christian life over the last 51 years. My inspiration comes from my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and my desire to see that my grandchildren grow up in a Christian nation. My goal is to bring glory to Him and help others to see that there is POWER in the name of JESUS!
