“My church is a mean church!”

OUCH! That really hurt!

I received two emails this week from church members who made that very statement. The members are from two different churches in two different states. One of the churches belongs to a denomination; the other is nondenominational. In both cases, the church members made the decision to drop out of local church life altogether.
Yes, I tried to reason with the two members. I told them that no church is perfect. If they had any doubt, I wrote, look at the two letters the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth. I failed in convincing them to stay in their churches. I pray they will become active in other churches later. More Here

Lifeway Research: Of the churchgoers who left the church for a reason other than a residential move, 1 in 4 (26%) simply became disenchanted with the church.

Pastor Dewey Moede: In the role God has given me as a circuit preacher, I have dealt with Churches going through splits. I was asked years ago to help two Churches going through another split, one had already 4 splits, and another had gone through two splits! What heartbreak! I was taught much! I heard all sorts of complaints. I would say God was not with many and many were just so darn stubborn, they were blinded! UGH! They would complain about the preacher and certain individuals! In these cases there was always a few, sometimes more than a few to always complaining about their Pastor! I have found that too many Pastors have been victim of Christians behaving badly. I always take the spiritual temperature of every Church I go to!

It can and at times has gotten ugly. Being a Circuit preacher as not as easy as some think. You see the good, the bad and ugly! I could write a book!

There are Churches that I will not go back to, as God has told me no more. They are dead. I need you elsewhere.
