A Great day! I came home from Radio/TV school for a visit in 1979 and Dad and I got this picture taken outside of the Windom Fire Hall! GREAT TIMES! LOOK AT HIS SMILE! Assistant Chief, Transportation Director for the School, head Usher at American Lutheran Church! MOST OF ALL A GREAT HUSBAND. FATHER AND GRANDPA! GLORY!
U.S. Marine Wally Moede in WWII located in China
When Dad came home from the War he married my angel Mother, Ruth Irene Caraway!

Pastor Dewey Moede: I had the best dad ever! Dad loved everybody! He gave his life to serving our country in WWII, U.S. Marine SGT. Dad left home to enlist in the Marines at age 17!!!!!!  He served the children in my hometown of Windom, Minnesota as the Transportation Director for the Schools, Assistant Fire Chief, head usher at the Church we attended, American Lutheran. Dad had a lot to do with the creation of the first school handicapped bus in Minnesota. Dad just loved all! He taught me how to serve. JESUS came not to be served, but to serve all. Dad grew up in poverty, a family of 13 kids.

One year on Flag Day, which is also his birthday, he took me downtown to the Coast to Coast hardware store in Windom and bought me my first ever new bike!!!!!!!! ON HIS BIRTHDAY! Up until that time us kids were riding used bikes, we could not afford new ones. I had two paper routes and the new bike Dad got me had baskets on the back to carry the papers. Dad was always thinking of others FIRST, as did our Mom Ruth! We were modeled to serve others first.

Being the child of the WWII generation and how I was modeled to live my life, I surely do not fit this world. I am so very, very sad what has happened to America. It is like a long funeral procession I am watching everyday. Even the Churches have changed, more of a show than anything else. The Church fights itself, got involved with evil politicians, still does, which means the down fall of the Church. Many act like fools, thinking they represent JESUS! Many Churches are creating more and more HATE than showing the love of JESUS! I thank the LORD I was raised by Christian parents and WWII parents! The WWII generation is the greatest ever in America history! The Church in America has lost its influence on most Americans. Makes me sick. It is the Churches own fault! George Barna: “People have become more selfish, churches have become less influential, pastors have become less Bible-centric”

Many Churches have become like ‘clubhouses,’ instead of the House of our LORD!

  Father’s Day! “America needs heroes on the battlefield of everyday life” -U.S. Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall

U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Center for Disease Control, and other agencies report that children from fatherless homes are:

  • Nine times more likely to drop out of school;
  • Twenty times more likely to go to in prison;
  • Higher risk of drug and alcohol abuse;

In an effort to recognize the importance of a father in the home, the several “Father’s Day” services were celebrated.
One was organized by Grace Golden Clayton, who on July 5, 1908, arranged a church service to honor all fathers, in memory of her father who was a Methodist minister in West Virginia. More Here
