The Jerusalem Post reports that yesterday (6/18/2024), the Office of Israel’s Prime Minister released a statement asserting that the United States is expected to lift its hold on the shipment of ammunition and weapons designated for the Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”).
Reportedly, U.S. Ambassador (to Israel) Jack Lew told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the ammunition to which he referred “are in the process of being delivered to Israel.” This comes only one day following Netanyahu’s public expression of frustration that the Biden administration was preventing the delivery of important military arms to Israel.
The public dispute between Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Biden administration over arms comes in advance of a trip by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to Washington and Netanyahu’s expected joint address to Congress, now scheduled for July 24, 2024.
Here is a YouTube video of yesterday’s comments by Prime Minister Netanyahu, uploaded by Forbes:

My brothers and sisters, with all of the recent handwringing by the United Nations, ridiculous judgements by the International Criminal Court, and seemingly never-ending efforts by the Biden administration to PREVENT Israel from a complete victory that destroys Hamas and prevents a recurrence of the October 7, 2023 attack, is unfortunate – yet refreshing in a way – as the leader of the United States’ greatest ally in the entire Middle East essentially ‘calls President Joe Biden’s bluff’ and points out that ‘enough is enough.’
With the upsurge of attacks in northern Israel from Hezbollah and the growing consensus that Israel is almost certainly going to need to broaden the war by dealing with Hezbollah, strong support for Israel by the United States is absolutely essential, and frankly, it’s the right thing to do!
As this writer has stated before, Hamas breaks every known and internationally-accepted rule of warfare. It is a terrorist organization with the expressed goal of killing all Jews and removing the nation of Israel from the face of the earth. It should come as no surprise that continuing cajoling and handwringing by fearful and risk-averse nations, including the United States, persists in hopes that an acceptable ‘settlement’ would be obtained. This is simply not a reality. Sometimes evil understands only one thing, brute force.
As followers of Christ, let’s continue to pray for the protection of the Jewish people (God’s chosen people), the state of Israel, and all of the persons suffering and at mortal risk, whether they are abducted hostages, military members or displaced citizens (including those Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who are suffering greatly under the control of Hamas, which does not care who lives nor who dies). Let’s also pray for a quick and just end to this war, without needed escalation against Hezbollah and possibly even Iran.
Let’s remember what the bible has to say about the Jewish people and Israel:
Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself [emphasis mine], a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
Psalm 122:6-7 (Amplified Bible)
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you [holy city]. May peace be within your walls [a]nd prosperity within your palaces.’”
Psalm 132:13 (NKJV)
“For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place…”.
And, as hard as it may be to accept, the bible says that there is a time when war becomes necessary (on this side of heaven):
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (Amplified Bible)
A Time for Everything
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—[a] time to be born and a time to die; [a] time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; [a] time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; [a] time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; [a] time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to search and a time to give up as lost; [a] time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; [a] time to keep silent and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate; [a] time for war and a time for peace [emphasis mine].”
