How Do We Know God Hears Us When We Pray?
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. It’s a beautiful day here in Maine and it looks like the weather will be a hot one. I am ready for the blessing of a new day. How about you?
I used to ponder at times if God really heard my prayer and if he would answer. The more I got to know him, I got to know that he heard every time I spoke a word, every time I shed a tear, every time I called on his name he was already there. That made me have peace and stripped away my anxieties. Even when I made a mistake, when I messed things up, he already knew and said I have you, I love you, you are mine. That gave me confidence that I was walking with a God of love. He wasn’t looking to punish my every mistake.
I remember getting stopped going to a funeral for speeding. The officer gave me a ticket. I had been hurrying just getting home from a business trip, getting my three girls ready to drop off at my sisters and to get to the funeral parlor before things were over. I went home that night and knelt beside my bed and cried and cried. I was a mess, I messed up, I got caught for speeding. Now what did God think of me. On my knees every morning I have discovered a God that wasn’t mad at me. He began a work to show me his love. It took some time to build the relationship with a man that would love me enough to die for me. He is the best man I have ever met. You can rest assured he hears every prayer.
I must admit I struggle with mean people. I often ponder what happened to make them so darn mean. Religion is mean, cruel really. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t create people that are mean and cruel to one another. He is a God of great love.
I am still learning about God’s love. The love that God showed me and continues to show me every day is beyond what I could ever think or imagine. When I became his daughter, I really became a daughter of a king. How about you?

Father, thank you for being the best Father. You tell us to call on you and you will answer us, and show us great and mighty things, which we do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3)
Father, thank you that you loved people enough to die for them. Psalm 34:17 tells me every morning that the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. We understand we are only righteous because of the blood of Jesus Christ. We couldn’t earn your love, we don’t deserve your love even on our best day. When we became sons and daughters of a king, we were bought with a price, and it was your blood. The blood of Jesus Christ. It was and will always be enough. Amen.
