How is the turmoil in our country impacting you?
In this month alone, there has been an assassination attempt on the former President, resulting in injury to Donald Trump and death and injury to some of the attendees at his rally. Then, roughly three months until the election, President Biden announced that he will no longer be running for re-election after refuting calls to step aside. In uncertain times like these, what do we do? My mind goes to Scripture. Matthew 5:9 says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” This passage is from the Beatitudes, and it has been stuck in my mind during these challenging days because it is our charge to bring peace when there is chaos around us. As Christians, we must be able to extend love to those with whom we disagree while we call on God to bring peace to our nation. It is my earnest desire that the body of Christ will be united as peacemakers so that we can help build a more united country and show the love of Christ to those who may refuse to see it.
