As Sharon and I travel we see little unity in the Church. We also witness the lack of children in Church. We see no youth programs in many Churches and no Children’s Sunday school! We get excited when we do! I have to share with you that in Glenwood, New Mexico, a very small town, 113 people, the First Baptist Church and the Community Church had almost 80 children at VBS this summer! These two Churches partner together every year! GLORY! Why can’t the top three attended Churches in Albuquerque, with a total membership of over 30,000 do something like this together? There is a lack of unity here. Walls! Kingdoms! Failure to carry out The Great Commission. Albuquerque is dying. The city is so full of evil. Hello? No time for walls. I can only imagine what would happen for the LORD if all off the Churches in Albuquerque and across America would come together and carry out The Great Commission! What is stopping this? Politics? Ego?
Do folks not believe in what Jesus says in John 17:20-23?
Churchleaders
If there is no existing youth leader network in your area, it’s time to prayerfully consider creating one. In John 17:20-23, Jesus indicates that unity among His followers has a role to play in how the outside world sees and understands His message:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
If Glenwood, New Mexico, with 113 residents, can have almost 80 children in VBS every summer, why can’t your Church?
Do you have a Biblical Worldview?
What is stopping your Church to partner with other Churches?
I have to add this to my message for sure! I am so very grateful that I get to see my home Church in Windom, Minnesota in action through Facebook! The American Lutheran Church, where I started Sunday school at 4 or 5, and was baptized and confirmed, has an awesome youth program! So many wonderful families and children! Great leadership there! Population of the town is approaching 5,000 I believe.
Albuquerque seems to have a Church on every street corner……so why so such evil? Why can’t Churches consolidate?
Albuquerque has a pot shop and booze joint on every street corner also……..
