Is Your Mirror Broken?
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. A few months ago, I broke some pieces off my car mirror. I was on my way to pick up my granddaughter and then on to shop for flowers. She had friends that were in the Star City Pageant that Saturday evening and she wanted to cheer them on. A piece of metal snapped my mirror that night. It made me sad as the broken pieces couldn’t be glued back together. I never told my granddaughter as I wanted her night to be special cheering on her friends.
As I sat in the auditorium that night, the writer within me was thinking about all the people around the world that have a broken mirror. They struggle even to get a glance in, wondering what the reflection might look like and how does the rest of the world see them. So many broken people. So many broken mirrors.
I am so thankful to walk with a God that defines us. I will never forget a morning several years ago now. I myself was struggling with brokenness. Tears were streaming down my face faster than I could re-apply the layers of make-up. I was trying hard to paste on a good foundation, but to no avail. I remember asking God a question that morning. I asked him a big question? How do you see me God? I heard his voice, and his words changed my life forever. I call you beautiful were the words that dropped into my spirit. I quickly picked up a pen and began to write Ashes No More. Let me share it with you once again this morning.
Jesus, lover of my soul, creator of my image, lifter of my head, my name is Beautiful. Woman, pure, holy, undefiled, sanctified, set apart. Journeying with Jesus, a path narrow and straight, ashes no more. Trusting her master-her maker, the lover of her soul. Skipping on the journey with childlike faith, believing her Father knows what’s best. The morning dew, the night’s crisp air, reminds her of the kisses from above. Jesus, the ultimate man, the lover of her soul. Beautiful, a receiver of His glory, ashes no more.
That’s how he sees you every morning beautiful people. Write it on your mirror, buy a new one if you have too. There is no brokenness he can’t heal. He is stronger, more powerful than any piece of steel. He calls you beautiful, can you receive it this morning?
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you that you define us. You call us beloved. (3 John 2) You desire to replace the lens in people’s lives all across this globe today. You don’t ever give up on people. You loved people enough to die for them. (John 3:16) This girl is forever grateful.
Father, the world belongs to you. Psalm 24 tells us all about it. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
Father, our heads are lifted this morning, and may all your beautiful people hear your voice as they spend time with you. In your presence is fullness of joy. We overcome today by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11)
Father, show all your beautiful people great and mighty things today. (Jeremiah 33:3) Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
This is your best year yet beautiful people. Believe…
