My response to this is not really about the Olympics.

These things I command you, so that you will love one another. “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. John 15:17-19.

My Dear Brother in Christ, Scott Troyer of Goshen, Indiana, posted this on Facebook. EXCELLENT! Scott worked for me at WFRN Christian Radio in South Bend/Elkhart back in the day, almost 40 years ago now. I love him so much, as I do his precious wife Niki!

Scott is with Time to Revive, which is an outstanding ministry headed up by my dear brother in Christ, Kyle Martin! I have always called Kyle a young Billy Graham! Glory! I served on Kyle’s board at one time!

From Scott Troyer:

My response to this is not really about the Olympics.

I didn’t watch the opening ceremonies last night, but was made aware of this very disturbing portrayal of the Last Supper on this morning’s feed.

Many Christians may choose to boycott the Olympics and that could be a very appropriate option. As I sat with God this morning, I tried to recall all the companies, organizations, and industries that have acted hostile towards my Lord. There are many.

These things I command you, so that you will love one another. “If the world hates you, know that it has hated [M]e before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you” [John 15:17-19].

This world is not our home.  As believers in the gospel of Jesus, we are to shine the light of Christ into this dark world.

“For God did not send [H]is Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through [H]im” [John 3:17].

My response (our response) should to be that we are all the more intentional to share “the hope that is in you (us); yet do it with gentleness and respect…” [1 Peter 3:15b].
