Former President Donald Trump was released from the hospital late Saturday night, hours after an assassination attempt was made on his life and caused the death of one campaign rally attendee and critically wounded two others.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the FBI said the gunman who attempted to assassinate the former president was 20-year-old Thomas Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He was killed by the Secret Service, Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement on Saturday.

Here’s a list of 10 reactions from pastors and Evangelical leaders across the U.S. following the failed attempt to murder the former president. More Here

Pastor Dewey Moede:

I am sure many people all around America did not much sleep last night. I was like numb when I got the news about the assassination attempt on President Trump’s life. So very thankful he will be okay. We continue to pray for his healing. We thank the Lord for his safety and the awesome work of the Secret Service and many others. We mourn the loss of the person who died from gunshot and we pray for the person who was critically injured. Lord have mercy!

Oh Lord, we are in tough shape here in America. We are so very divided. Hate is flaming. I pray that many will come to know YOU through this tragedy. May all Americans come to know the TRUE PEACE THAT YOU OFFER ALL! May all know that we can disagree without violence. We love you LORD, We put our trust in your ways, not ours, in the Mighty and Loving name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Updated at 9:20 p.m. ET on July 13: In a statement posted on Truth Social at 8:42 p.m. Eastern time Saturday night, former President Donald Trump thanked the Secret Service and extended his condolences to the family of the rally attendee who was killed by the shooter and the relatives of the person who was seriously injured:

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
