The Blessing Of Giving…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Happy Saturday. I was thinking recently of a church service I was in last year. At the end of the service the visiting preacher asked for the congregation to come forward and pray for all the preachers that were at the altar that evening. I stepped out of my seat to add my prayer.
Sometimes when I pray, I see things. It’s a revelatory gift God gave me. I saw a mailbox that evening as I prayed for one young preacher. I remember hearing the words, tell him it is not always going to come in the mailbox. I told him just that and moved on to pray for another preacher. I finished praying and found my way back to the pew in which I was seated.
Apparently, the young preacher was sitting in the pew behind me, because God didn’t quit speaking on his behalf. I then heard God say to write the young preacher a check for six hundred dollars for what he is believing for. I felt God said to do it right then. No time to ask my ministry board, etc. he wanted it done right there. I pulled out my personal checkbook and obeyed God quickly that night. Apparently, the preacher was believing God to pay off the church parsonage mortgage.
Sometimes, I think God thinks I am rich. I certainly am. I am rich in him. How about you?
Let’s Pray:
Father, you tell us it is better to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35) Father, thank you for giving us everything we need in this world. You gave us Jesus and for that we are forever grateful.
Father thank you for the gift of hearing your voice. You tell us that your sheep hear and know your voice. (John 10:27)
Father, thank you that our Father owns it all. We pray you trust us with much in the days ahead. Amen.
Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Your greatest treasure is Jesus. Give something away today in his name. A cup of water, a smile, a hug or whatever he asks of you. It makes for a good day.
