Do You Know El Shaddai?
Good morning beautiful people. I was thinking this morning about Luke in the Bible. He was a doctor from my understanding. He tells us in Chapter 6:38 to give. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Actually, this was the verse my grandson read to us Sunday morning before we left to return home from our day at the beach. I had some good teaching moments about giving with my three grandsons on that trip.
I grew up in a poor family, but we gave. I remember people coming by our home for dinner at times. I also remember wondering what we were going to have for dinner some days. Both of those days never hurt me but helped shape who I would become.
I remember a time praying for food as my week of fasting went south. I just couldn’t make it. I had no car, I had no food, I barely had a place to live, but I had a heart after God. It’s in these places that you learn if you really know him. Is he really the Good Father we read about in the Bible? Will he provide? Yes, yes, he did.
Recently, I was in a church service, and they were taking a second offering to help a camp in need. I had given in the first offering and was looking in my purse for any cash to lay on that altar that night for the second offering. The lady behind me saw me and passed me two five-dollar bills. I happen to know this lady. I have been praying for this woman since that night. Does God ever have a plan for her. She gave in some good soil that night. I reached out to give it back to her and she said to consider it a gift, that she loved watching me give from my Christmas overflow. I love to give. I have been asking God to trust me with much, so I could give more. How about you?
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you that you are more than enough. Thank you that you meet the needs of your people in so many different ways. You are our El-Shaddai.
Father, thank you for the overflow in our hearts this morning. Your mercy and grace extended to us, makes us sons and daughters of a king.
Father, thank you for the overflow, the many blessings, the open doors, all that you are giving your people today. We desire to walk closer to El Shaddai.
Father, may many all across this globe today pray to know you as El Shaddai. May they walk in the overflow. You are the best Father. Amen.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
