The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is clearly in a season of transition. After recently spending millions of dollars to rebrand itself through the “I am a Mormon” campaign, the church has now decided not to use the word “Mormon” to describe itself but rather to use the phrase the “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” I certainly will use the words Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because that is the technical name of the organization, but there is a particular shift inside this religious group that I think is important to address.

Recently, on my own Instagram feed, I saw this ad encouraging me to come to “Christ-centered services” and advertising as a church. [NOTE:  The red arrows and highlights are in the original.] Though I cannot tell if this is an official LDS account, its links are all to those resources. More Here

Pastor Dewey Moede: The Mormons are everywhere – in our parks, on the streets, social media, and knocking on doors. They have gained a lot of ground over the years. I have never met a ‘mean’ Mormon. I have friends that are Mormon. I attempt to build bridges of love and trust in the name of JESUS!

I sure have met too many mean Christians! One attacked me on Facebook yesterday, not understanding our mission, building bridges with an unbelieving world. The man just showed pure anger, and he expects people to be attracted to JESUS by his attitude?

There are too many angry Christians in the world, and you are surely not going to attract folks to the Church.  Look at the GOP and DEMS.  Both parties are so very angry and out of their minds. The GOP platform now supports the killing of God’s babies. I DO NOT SUPPORT EITHER PARTY! LORD HAVE MERCY! Man oh man!

What are you doing to share JESUS and the Christian message with the world! FGGAM is a Great Commission ministry. The biggest failure of Christians in America is not doing what the Lord has command us to do! CARRY OUT THE GREAT COMMISSION! I will repeat this message until the day die.

The Christian Church in America is losing ground…..We here at FGGAM know no walls! Are you and your Church carrying out The Great Commission? Do you know what it is? George Barna: “People have become more selfish, churches have become less influential, pastors have become less Bible-centric”

Why Churches Talk the Great Commission But Don’t Do It

Church Marketing: Reaching Out Online

The Great Commission is in the Bible in Matthew 28:16-20:
  • Matthew 28:16: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me'”
  • Matthew 28:18: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”

Matthew 28:20: “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age'”

In these verses, Jesus Christ instructs his disciples to spread the gospel to all nations, baptize disciples, and teach them to follow his commands. The Great Commission is a direct command from Jesus.
