All Israel News reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticized the U.S. decision to sanction an organization operating in Judea and Samaria (internationally known as the West Bank) yesterday (8/28/2024), and used unusually sharp language to express his disapproval.

The current U.S. economic sanctions targeted Hashomer Yosh, a group relying on volunteers to provide security to settler communities, farms and outposts, and Yitzhak Levi Filant, an active duty Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) soldier and security coordinator.

In recent months, the Biden administration has announced an unprecedented campaign of sanctions targeting individuals and entities purportedly involved in violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, and even considered sanctioning an active IDF battalion.

This FGGAM writer wants to know; how do such actions by the Biden administration help the United States, especially considering that Israel is the Holy Land and politically, Israel is the only functioning democracy and true ally of the United States in the entire Middle East?

My brothers and sisters, the bible makes it clear how God feels about the Jewish people and Israel:

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8 (Amplified Bible)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘[a]fter glory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you—for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.’”

This may be politically incorrect, but political decisions are too often made from the perspective and mindset of the wisdom of the world, without the benefit of prayer and the guidance offered by God’s word, the bible, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

In other words, the world would be a much better place if civil governments, and the politics inherent therein, were informed by persons holding a biblical worldview and operating in godly love – with the desire to see true peace abound in the earth.

According to the bible, blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord:

Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom [H]e hath chosen for [H]is own inheritance.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
