Seek His Glory
Matthew 17:1-5 NKJV
[1] Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; [2] and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. [3] And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. [4] Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” [5] While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
What are you searching for?
Imagine Jesus talking these three Disciples of His to the mountain. Not knowing what to expect. Not realizing who they would see, what they would hear.
What they would see would be life changing for every heart that would commit and confess the name of Jesus Christ!
They were privileged to see a small glimpse of what was to come.
This was a miracle and an amazing event of the Glory of Heaven.
Jesus had just asked His Disciples who they thought He was. Then He tells them that He will suffer and die.
After The Lord tells them that they too will suffer and die for His sake and the sake of the Gospel.
We talk a lot about the Glory of God.
We should be seeking the Glory Of God. Not to just give Him Glory but search for His Glory. And we all should be looking forward to it.
The Glory of the Lord!
This will be the final fulfillment of the Father’s promise to those that have repented and believed.
The fulfillment of all the Old Testament Prophecies about the Messiah Jesus Christ.
The Cross of Christ was a means for Jesus to atone for our sins. It was how the shed Blood of Christ was released to cover our sins to make us acceptable to the Father. The Resurrection is the hope of our own promise and Resurrection to Eternal life to be reunited with Him in Heaven forever.
The work of Redemption was all completed in, on and through the Cross Jesus Christ shouldered! Jesus goes up on the mountain and Jesus transfigures.
Transfigured in the Greek is where we get the word metamorphosis.
What is metamorphosis?
It’s a change on the outside that comes from the inside. Because of the inside.
A complete transformation! It was beyond anyone could explain!
His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such that no launderer on earth can whiten them.
We need to be a people that seeks the Glory of Heaven’s Throne!
Not just His Salvation,His Mercy. Not just His compassion and love but His Glory.
God’s presence, which is seen as radiant and magnificent. God’s character, attributes, and worth.
This should be what we strive for.
To see the Promise of God fulfilled through His Son.
To see the magnificent Glory Of Heaven!
To fall at the feet of the Glorified Jesus Christ!
No longer on the Cross!
No longer in the tomb, but resurrected and seated at the mighty Right Hand of the Father!
Seated on His Throne of Glory in all of Radiance!
Let me ask you what keeps you going.
What is it when the hard times come?
Jesus is always the right answer, but why?
When life is overwhelming.
When the tribulations and trials that were promised to us come into our lives.
When our bodies start to deteriorate.
When persecution comes to us for the sake of the Name of Jesus and His Gospel.
Where do you turn?
If you have repented of your sins and you believe the Gospels that’s your Salvation. Where does your hope live?
Peter, James and John saw the Glory Of Heaven! They saw the King in all of His Majesty.
Illuminating brighter, lighter and whiter than any words can explain!
All this time they saw miracles. They professed Him as Messiah in faith.
Now they have the Hope of Heaven!
He gave them a glimpse of the kingdom as it will be when it has been completely established and Jesus is revealed to all as its King. What might the purpose of this be?
We are still waiting today for the Kingdom to be established.
When our King comes down in all His Glory, not just a glimpse to these three Disciples but to all the World.
Where every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord of all!
So what is it that we should be seeking!
To be reunited with and joined in awe of Him! To finally make it to His promise!
Revelation 21:4 NKJV
[4] And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
When one is so close to God, everything changes. All impossibilities dissolve.
Fear fades away. The war on worry is won through seeing the Radiance of the Lord.
Nothing shines brighter. Nothing is greater. No darkness can and Blot it out.
And when we can see and stand in His presence nothing is impossible.
Seek His Glory!
So what is it that keeps us going and persevering?
It has To be to see Jesus Christ full of Glory.
People always talk about Heaven.
What makes Heaven so perfect?
What makes Heaven so Radiant?
Why is it so perfect?
I John 3:2-3 NKJV
[2] Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. [3] And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Glorified Jesus.
To be in the presence of perfection.
No more tears and no more sorrows but to be in the Radiant Light Of Jesus Christ out and away from the darkness of this world.
Finally free from death , sickness and sin.
We wait in joyful hope for the Return of the King of Glory!
When we deny ourselves and carry our Cross it is not in vain!
We say things like ” just trust in the Lord, just wait on the Lord.”
But what are you waiting for?
Glory to God if He answers all your prayers and requests.
But if He doesn’t, what are you trusting and waiting for?
It must be His Glory.
It must be To see Jesus in all of His Glorious Radiance!
If you have Salvation through the shed Blood, if you believe and confess and have repented, and have assurance of the promises and the hope to come, now what?
His Followers, those that Believe and have repented. We will be admiring Him!
We will hail Him as King.
We will worship and honor Him. We will fall to our knees and place our Crowns at His Holy Feet.
The Lord in His Majesty, In His Glory and Radiance is alone our hope and He is Who we long for at our last breath.
Not Just Heaven but the One that Rules and Reigns and beautifies it. Jesus Christ of Nazareth and nothing else!
Go and seek HIS Glory!
