Dr. Ryan Denison discusses in Denison Forum’s The Daily Article how following formal approval of the Democratic National Convention’s (“DNC”) platform last night (8/22/2024), Vice President Kamala Harris dedicated the first fifteen minutes of her speech to sharing her life story and then quickly pivoted to a critique of her opponent, former President Donald J. Trump.
Harris frequently referenced Project 2025 and claimed it represented what Trump would do if he were reelected in November (despite Trump’s multiple denials of any direct association with the organization).
Harris’ strongest moments came as she spoke about the wars in Ukraine and Israel, as well as the need to go forward rather than backward as a nation. In particular, she characterized Hamas as a terrorist organization and openly condemned the October 7, 2023 attacks, marking a clear and welcome departure from how many in the Democratic Party have approached the issue.

My brothers and sisters, considering all that is being said about Project 2025, I visited its website. The project was described as an historic, conservative movement, organized by The Heritage Foundation and based upon Heritage’s longstanding “Mandate for Leadership,” which was asserted to have been highly influential for presidential administrations since the Reagan era.
The project’s stated goals included securing the U.S. border; completing the border wall; deporting those here illegally; de-weaponizing the federal government by increasing accountability and oversight of the FBI and DOJ; unleashing U.S. energy production to reduce energy costs; cutting the growth of government spending to reduce inflation; making federal bureaucrats more accountable to the U.S. president and Congress; improving education by moving control and funding to parents, and state and local governments; and the banning of biological males from competing in women’s sports.
The bible tells us to pray for our leaders (see 1 Timothy 2:1-3), so let’s pray that God’s will is done in the upcoming U.S. General Election and that godly leadership would be the result.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 (ESV)
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions [emphasis mine], that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior…”.
