In Denison Forum’s The Daily Article, Dr. Ryan Denison discusses Vice President Kamala Harris’ first formal interview since becoming the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.

Harris was interviewed in a pre-recorded sit-down yesterday (8/29/2024) with CNN’s Dana Bash.  She responded to questions about the economy, energy plans, the border and the situation in Israel; however, her response as to why her views on those subjects seems to have changed since she ran for president in 2020 usually circled back to the notion that “my values have not changed.”  NBC News reporting on the interview may be read HERE.

Dr. (Ryan) Denison’s commentary had more to do with what Harris did not discuss in the interview.  Notably, she did not discuss her desire to ‘reform’ or ‘pack’ the U.S. Supreme Court  (“SCOTUS”), which includes changes that both she and President Joe Biden recently proposed, such as 18-year term limits, a new justice selected every two years, and strict rules for ethics and recusal standards.  Interestingly, the Harris team seems disinterested in discussing them.
