Imagine, ABQ is Saturday, September 28

As Albuquerque is too often featured for its negative news, we ask that you take before and after photos/videos of the areas you clean, posting them on social media with the hashtag #imagineabq. This swell of positive imagery helps create some good press around our city.

The 3rd Annual Imagine, ABQ Citywide Cleanup is happening on September 28th, and the entire community is invited to participate! Residents of all ages are encouraged to take part in this initiative to beautify Albuquerque by cleaning up their neighborhoods, homes, and businesses.

Imagine, ABQ is a community-driven movement aimed at transforming Albuquerque through volunteer efforts. Started by local residents passionate about restoring the beauty and pride of our city, this initiative has grown into a citywide effort that happens on the last Saturday of September. Projects include neighborhood clean-ups, mural installations, and yard makeovers—bringing people together to create lasting change.

The asks is simple: start where you are.  Is there trash in public areas you visit?  Please pick it up.  Are there weeds around your community?  Pull them out. Do you have an elderly neighbor who could use some help? Led a hand.  Put simply, look for ways to make Albuquerque a more beautiful place.

If needed, supplies such as trash bags and gloves will be available for the community to pick up on September 28th at Fire Station 1 – 724 Silver Avenue SW and Fire Station 5 – 123 Dallas NE.

Imagine, ABQ started with a vision from David Meyers, a local Albuquerque Fire Department chaplain and Larry “Lencho” Espinoza, who believed that a united community could transform our city. What began as a small initiative has grown into a full-fledged movement, now supported by 11 board members and recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.  For more information, please visit: https://imagineabq.com/.
