Jesus IS The Light of the World, By Karen Rowe

Good morning,

Every day is new!   And every day God loves you!

Could you be coming into a new season with new beginnings for shining the Light of Jesus to the world to see?

This Light of Christ makes all the difference for the world and the Kingdom of God.

Jesus answers our questions:

“In the same way, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven – Matthew 5:16.”

#1  Don’t keep this Good News to yourself.

     THEN, Jesus outlines how we are to share this New Life.

1st LET the good deeds speak the message.

2nd Clarify – Let Christ in us do the work – The way that leads people to believe Jesus is sent by God, as God also sends you in Jesus Name.

Determine the Effectiveness of the message:

     how I tell

     how I live

Show the love of Jesus – Check my motives:

Am I trying to be seen?  Let’s get raw and honest before God!   God will help you understand.  God loves honesty!  Or is the good deed coming from spiritual understanding?  Then Proceed for the glory of God to be seen!

3 words:  Directed, Balanced, Consistent.

Who is the author of confusion?  the wisdom that comes to us from below????  and where you find hurt feelings? offended?  rejected?  Where you find  ….envy & selfish ambition, what do you find?  Confusion and disorder and every evil practice.

My friends, we are to build each other up daily in our most holy faith!  To come to know and believe in the love God has for us and not to let our pride get in our way.  Humility is easiest when we remember the joy of the Lord that waits for us to attain growth in day by day as we grow stronger and stronger in Christ Jesus.

But the Wisdom that comes to us from above is first of all pure, which doesn’t leave us double-minded about wanting God’s help to change our mind.

It’s our soulish mind that we change & take captive every thought we have to the obedience of the Mind of God, which is Christ.

The Bible says to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ!  And to let this mind be in your that is in Christ Jesus.

What does this have to do with Light?   Everything!

We cannot balance unlike things.  We cannot balance the flesh with the spirit.

Areas to be trimmed?

Who is to be known?  us or Jesus?  How do we know that we are known?  Isn’t it by receiving the love of God that is shining into our hearts that assures us we are loved by God as God’s child?

This is written to encourage you that God asks us to shine in the darkest corners and to keep shining the Light of God’s Patience and Kindness to … all people, and especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Do we think we are ready-made perfect?  We have some growing up to do – Right?

Jesus come as a baby, and grew up being WAXED STRONG in the FAITH.

God is bringing us into the knowledge of Who He is … And that means, we see each other too.  OUCH!  to be seen by …

I am already getting thoughts come to me not to share this!  BUT God is the God whom we serve.  My only Goal is the shing the Light for God’s glory to be seen and what might that look like in your life?

Do-overs?  Forgiveness?  Repentance?   And all this and we are still called to be the light of Jesus to this world?   YES!

as we grow up in our knowledge of God and of the Son God sent for us!

“Being judged without being known tends to make one go out of their way to avoid being known.   God can send a goose to you in any situation – later on that one!  :)     But sure, you can be full of Christ among others like-minded, but to be a lighthouse for Christ …. to the world?

I liked this quote:  “We shine best in the darkest corners!   Keep shining my friend!

JOY is Jesus 1st, Others 2nd & Ourselves last.

The Holy Spirit does the work, we just love and pray.  Ask God today, how you might let your light of the love of God who fills your heart shine for the glory of God to be seen to someone in a dark place in their world today.

Be tender and more appreciative – understanding their need.   Life is meaningful when we learn the purpose of Christ Jesus _ The Light has come into the world & Let the Light of Christ Jesus so shine for others to see.  Leave the choosing up to others and God.   Be loved my friend!

These are just some of my study notes today and some of the matching revelations the Lord is teaching me.   I share, because I happen to believe we should encourage each other daily with things God helps us in too.

Jesus is the Light of the world!

Jesus answered!

Jesus spoke!

And, there is something more we need to understand about who Jesus is!

Okay, as we press on to hear Jesus, let’s turn our pages to read also, Matthew 16:24

My Friends, to come to know and believe in the love God has for us changes us!  But then, we have to learn how to abide in the power of that Light that God has shined in our hearts to give light to the world.

I mean right?   We can’t get stuck, but we do have to ask Jesus about the measure of Christ we are in?   How much oil is in our lamp that is actually Christ?  Is there any flesh impurities in our heart’s oil?

Christ is that Light and if you are following Jesus, we are to abide in this Light of God’s love together to be seen.

Ouch!

Recently, I didn’t like being seen as I was abiding in the Light both as the Lighthouse, but also as my oil was being purified.

Humm… We think, we feel and we want to, but do we burn for the glory of God to magnify God?  Or, is there a little bit in us that just wants to hide away and not be seen by the world?

I know a God who saves – Am I going to praise Him?

I know a God who loves us & I know a God who is patient and kind with us – Am I going to praise Him?

Jesus said.  Jesus answered.  Let’s glean from the message from John 8:12 -Jesus told his disciples he is the light of the world …   (& that ??? )

Jesus said, also that he that follows Jesus shall not walk in darkness, but (have ?)  …

BUT HAVE the LIGHT of LIFE!

Okay, this is getting good, I mean, isn’t it?

Further study verses that we can go to on our own, but WITH God to learn more!

John 9:5, 1 John 1:7, 1 John 1:5, Ps 119:105, John 1:18

Isn’t the point of the Light to Glorify God – not to get praise for ourselves?

Some thoughts to share with you that has helped me find 3 things as a follower of Jesus in this world that is supposed to see us!

That is deep – Pause to reflect on how much we need to rest in our confidence and dependance on Christ in us to do the work through us – It’s not us!  And, we make mistakes along the way that in our flesh – can bounce back and forth from kindness to hurtful to leave others watching / and effected by our unbalance to be confused / not effective.

So this is to encourage us to learn how to let our Light of Jesus shine to be effective in this world to make others glorify God too.

Jesus is the Light and We in Christ Have this Light!  The Holy Spirit is the Oil and the Fire of God is the Source of the flame that burns in our heart so brightly to love others and feel the pain of others, just as Jesus did when he went to the cross for us.

Okay, NEXT:

Jesus is not just our lamb, he is Jesus, The Christ that Son of the Living God.

Jesus is not just our lamb, he is our life!  Jesus is our Resurrected Life!

God is the Source and Jesus is the gift!  Christ in us is the Power!

Jesus is the Light of our Life!

Jesus is the Light of the World.

 

Jesus died for our sin, as the Lamb!

Jesus Is LORD too!

Jesus rose from the dead to give us life; and life to know and have the fullness of God!

 

Jesus gave us his glory of his Light that we might continue in this world to shine for God’s Glory to be seen!

I mean right?   Pause on that to ask God about this.

What is God saying to you in this moment?  What is the purpose of things you are going through?  Tests?  Tests are for promotion; right?  To know and have – To shine brighter and brighter for the glory of God till Jesus comes again …

God doesn’t need glory, we do!

God doesn’t need us; we need God.

Yes, God loves us!  Yes, and God most desires that we want to enjoy life with Him,

…  but like this, the Light doesn’t drag people into the Life with God.  I mean right?

But we can drive people into the dark corner when our flesh is sending mixes of confusion …kindness + hurt is not the power of the Light.

The Light just shines.  I mean right?

And Jesus is the Perfect Light!  … and every Today is a new Day to shine brighter and brighter for God’s Glory to be seen.   Further reading 1 John 4:16.

Have you ever gone

as far with a person

as they will let you go with them?

Just because we continue on – Doesn’t meant that we stop loving or praying for that person, does it?  What does the LIGHT do?

 

 

God has all glory

God doesn’t need our praise – we have no glory without Christ, do we?

We need to receive his glory, like a lamp receives the oil and the wick is trimmed to burn brightly to light up a room!

The Oil that saturates the wick is the Source of the fire that makes the light and protects the wick from burning up! And our body on this earth is the Church to hold the Light of God’s Love!

Have you ever burned an oil lamp?

The purpose is to see the reflection of Jesus Christ working in God’s People.

 

God’s Spirit is receiving God in our heart, and in God, all power and love and authority is to minister love over fear to each other by the same love of God who lives in us

 

We abide in this love and power WITH God.

 

Not apart from God – no more than an oil lamp can burn without the glass, the wick, the oil or the fire … and there is a knob to trim the wick to burn brightest and without being burned up.

 

We believe and receive God’s glory to be saved, just as you trust the oil lamp to light up the room and extinguish all darkness from your life.

 

We continue to believe in God’s glory in this dark world to rise from death to life, day-to-day, as long as God calls it Today, and as the sun comes up each morning – We have a new opportunity to shine as we grow in our knowledge of Christ Jesus again!

Pause …. What is Life Eternal anyway?

Jesus spoke again!

I know you will be drawn to read more, but this is just a glimpse of What Jesus wants us to come to know and believe and understand.

John 17:3

And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee

                          the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:

And with all thy getting get understanding.

Every time we die to self-to rise in glory in Christ Jesus is with God for the purpose of God’s Glory to be seen!

 

The joy of the Lord is our strength

 

God is all power

He gives us His power to be the light of Christ to this world, so that all might come to the knowledge of what this Eternal Life is all about!  And choose to receive God’s Grace!   Lord, pour out your oil upon us so that we might be save and all that hear us might be saved with us too!

Jesus did pray for us you know!  And we know the prayer of Jesus is in the power of God with Him!  And also, with us!   Jesus’ hand reaches humanity and connects us to the True and Living and Holy God!  God is the God of the living, not the god of the dead.

And together we complete the circuit of His Light to God’s House

God is the SOURCE of POWER!   We just connect to God thru His Son to HAVE the LIGHT!

I mean right?   Duke Power has the power.  We connect to their power.  We receive power to our house, right?   Then it gets powered down in the breaker box, so that we can have light in our house and not all the power of Duke energy that would blow up our house ….

 

The house of God is within our heart / Jesus is not the building.

God is with us wherever we go!  He is the power ….

I am now sure how much more I will share today, but …

 

JESUS IS …

The Light of God’s love

The Light of God’s glory

The Light of God’s joy

The Light of God’s peace

The Light of God’s authority & Power and The Light of God’s Life.

 

 

Jesus is that light

In Christ Jesus, God gave us this light and, God gave us of His Life and of His glory.

We are children learning; and that is okay!  So we make mistakes, God is still God!

Pause … God is still God, even when we are human.

We are human you know!  We have a soul that needs saved!  Each and every one of us has a soul that needs Jesus to be saved.  Then, we have a purpose if we want to … To Follow Jesus and let our light of Christ so shine for the world to see our God who is patient and kind with the ability to help us in every need!

 

The law of the world is the spirit of the world …

 

The law of Christ is the Spirit of Christ in a Christian

 

 

He died for our sin as the Lamb

He rose as Christ from the dead to give us Life with God.

 

He gave us glory

 

God doesn’t need glory, we do

 

God has all glory

We need to receive his glory

 

God’s Spirit is a gift to us and comes to us as we are receiving God, and in God, all power and love and authority of God is to minister love over fear, as we trust in the Living God who lives in us, helps us, saves us from ourselves.

 

We abide in this love and power WITH God.

Jesus is that light

In Christ Jesus, God gave us this light and this light is in following Jesus in God’s Life and glory

To Want what God Wants

 

The law of the world is the spirit of the world

 

The law of Christ is the Spirit of Christ in a Christian

 

I think I repeats some in my transfer from my notes to you, but I will trust this by faith and trust it is God in this that will be to his Glory.   Perhaps more later from me?  Perhaps more later from you?   But we will both share as we trust in the Oil in the Lamp.  If God says do, we do.  If God says wait, we be silent.  Whatever we do, let us pray to our God who does the work.  Thank you Jesus for helping us each and every today.   Amen.
