KOB 4 News (Albuquerque, NM) reports that Santa Fe, New Mexico, was the scene of another violent crime yesterday (9/8/2024) when Justin Jimenez (21) of Santa Fe stole a Jeep Grand Cherokee, fled from police, and eventually plowed through barricades set up for the ongoing Santa Fe Fiestas.
Police fired at Jimenez four separate times during the chase, which ended near East Palace Avenue and Canyon Road in heart of Santa Fe. The New Mexico State Police (“NMSP”) has assumed oversight of the investigation.
Jimenez is in custody, after being taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

My brothers and sisters, this is the second police-involved shooting in Santa Fe within the last week. It seems that the out-of-control violence plaguing Albuquerque may be moving to the north.
What makes anyone, even a 21-year-old, think that it is acceptable to steal vehicles and then drive in a manner putting the public’s and responding law enforcement’s lives in mortal danger? Why would someone believe he or she could run from police and actually escape the consequences?
Evil has become commonplace in our lives today – searing the conscience and corrupting the mind. So many are raised today in families without the fear of God, without faith in Christ, and never or rarely setting foot inside a church. Such persons become ‘low hanging fruit’ for the evil one.
The bible says that what we sow, we reap, whether good or evil:
Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV)
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
The bible says that those who willfully refuse to acknowledge God may be given over to a depraved mind:
Romans 1:28-29 (Amplified Bible)
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind [emphasis mine], to do things which are improper and repulsive, until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness.”
The bible also tells us that Satan can blind the minds of the unbelieving from accepting the gospel and seeing Christ as the very image of God:
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (Amplified Bible)
“But even if our gospel is [in some sense] hidden [behind a veil], it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing; among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
