Prayers For God’s Beautiful People During Hurricane Helene…
Father, we come to you tonight lifting up your people being affected by hurricane Helene. We join faith across this globe and speak to the storm tonight. We pray that this storm will quickly be brought to naught.
Father, we pray Psalm 91 over the families living in the areas being hit by this storm. We pray a hedge of protection over them, around them and behind them. Father, we pray you send help from on high.
Father, you said to speak to the storm. In Mark 4 we read that when that evening came, you said to the disciples, “Let us cross to the other side.” After they had dismissed the crowd, they took you with them, since you was already in the boat. And there were other boats with you. Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped. But you were in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke you and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?” Then you got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” you commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm. “Why are you so afraid?” you asked. “Do you still have no faith?” Overwhelmed with fear, they asked one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?
Father, we ask you to do it once again. We bind the spirit of fear and let faith arise all across this globe. Father, we join faith, and we speak calmness to the wind and the sea. We speak your Word over this hurricane, be still and know that he is God. (Psalm 46:10) The wind and the sea obey your every command.
Father, thank you for being our God. You are our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. (Psalms 46:1) We give you thanks. Amen.
