Immigration is a topic that is tearing apart America. We are not here to pour gas on this topic. The political rhetoric on immigration is very, very ugly. It makes me sick. I was at our doctor’s office yesterday. My doctor started to me it is good that I am are a pastor, but not one that spreads hate. WOW! I am thankful for her frankness. We are out and about on the streets and byways, we hear from people who may never step into a Church because of the hate being spread by so called Christians. My doctor is a loving person. She serves all people.
Stop the hate Christians. Everyone is a child of God. They are not a child of your politics. Many Pastors and laypeople are chasing people away from God. Look at church attendance in America. Does your Church look like you? Every Church should look like all of God’s children. I rarely see people with disabilities in Churches. People in wheelchairs? No. People that need a bath? No. People that have no place to live? No! People that are hungry? No! The last Church that I would see people in such need was at FBC in Reserve, NM. Deacon Charles and his lovely wife Joan were always brining people to Church that were in need of love and care.
Many of you will not agree what with Jalil Dawood, but I pray that some points he makes will touch your heart.
This whole mess we are in has been going on for years as The GOP and DEMS kick the can down the road on immigration. It is the fault of our messed up politics that we are in the position. Wed do not have any good political party in this country at the present time. If America would have stuck to our original immigration laws, we would not be in this horrible situation. Do you remember the state of Liberty? We need to just follow the laws that have been on the books for years and years.
When immigrants arrived in New York and saw the Statue of Liberty, they were greeted by an image of hope and a symbol of the American Dream:
-
First sight of the United States
For more than 12 million immigrants between 1892 and 1954, the Statue of Liberty was the first thing they saw when they arrived in the United States.
-
Symbol of hope
The statue became a symbol of hope for immigrants seeking opportunity in America.
-
Welcome
The statue’s torch seemed to say “welcome” to the anxious newcomers, rather than the “enlightenment” that the creators intended.
-
Mother of Exiles
Over time, the statue became known as the “Mother of Exiles” and a symbol of hope for generations of immigrants.

As a refugee who fled Iraq in 1982 because of war and persecution, I love the United States. My adopted country gave me a new start, freedom I never had enjoyed before and a bright future for my family.
But as a Christian, I’m saddened by the hateful rhetoric that often greets newcomers today. So little of it is true. And it shows an utter disregard for the biblical imperative to welcome the strangers in our midst.
My fellow conservatives have branded immigrants illegally crossing our southern border as murderers, rapists and drug dealers. Former President Donald Trump repeatedly has said illegal immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country” and recently sparked hostility toward Haitian immigrants – most of them in this country legally – in Springfield, Ohio.
Secure borders
Let me be perfectly clear: America should be able to protect its borders, limiting immigration to those who enter legally. That’s because preserving the blessings of liberty means taking security measures before allowing people into the country.
Today, even though I’m a citizen of this great country, I’m singled out when it comes to travel. I often go through extra screening, I’m asked extra questions, and I receive much more scrutiny than white Americans any time I re-enter the United States.
Why? Because there are people who look like me, talk like me and have names similar to mine who want to harm this nation. So, I welcome any additional screening, because it means our government is doing its job of keeping our people safe. More Here
Pastor Dewey Moede: How bad is the politics in America? I detest both parties. Look at this from Dr. Jim Denison.
More than 60 percent of Americans admit to “self-silencing”—keeping their true feelings on sensitive topics to themselves. For example:
- Only 22 percent of Americans say publicly that they trust the government to tell them the truth. (Consider for a moment the implications of this response.) However, when asked in a way that preserves their anonymity, it turns out only 4 percent actually feel this way.
- 24 percent say publicly that they trust the media to tell them the truth, but only 7 percent say the same in private.
- 37 percent say publicly that we live in a “mostly fair society,” but only 7 percent say the same privately.
