Fox News reports that the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives is investigating the Biden administration’s alleged use of taxpayer-funded resources to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the election ‘battleground’ state of Pennsylvania ahead of the November presidential election.
Today (9/25/2024), House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent letters to the White House, Pentagon and Justice Department seeking documents regarding the administration’s alleged “misuse of government resources” to allow Zelenskyy to allegedly “interfere in the 2024 presidential election.”
Comer states in the letters that “[i]n 2019, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached President Donald J. Trump for abuse of power under the theory that he attempted to use a foreign leader — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy — to benefit his 2020 presidential campaign, despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing on the part of President Trump.”
Comer then points out that the Biden administration “recently flew the same foreign leader — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy — on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania…which has been described as the ‘trickiest battleground for Vice President Kamala Harris to win.'”

COMMENTARY – Politics, Deception, Godly Wisdom and Discerning the Truth!
My brothers and sisters, major mainstream news outlets have been reporting that Zelenskyy’s visit to Pennsylvania happened without any GOP members invited. This, if accurate, really smacks of a partisan, if not an election-related, decision involving a foreign head of state who is leading an ongoing, existential war against his country by Russia.
If you have read any of this writer’s articles regarding Ukraine, you know that I am a STRONG and unapologetic supporter of Ukraine and U.S. support for Ukraine in this unprovoked war of aggression by Russia. For Russian President Vladimir Putin, this is a war of choice, not a ‘just’ war.
The Russia-Ukraine War is an evil war being pursued with little to no concern for the loss of lives in Ukraine or even for Russia’s own military members. Russia suffers under the leadership of Putin, who is a former Soviet KGB officer seeking the destruction of Ukraine and the death of Ukraine’s elected president in an apparent effort to relive the ‘glory’ days of the former Soviet Union and the Cold War — placing all NATO-aligned nations at potential risk if left unchecked.
All that said, however, it certainly appears, whether illegal or impeachable, Zelenskyy’s trip to Pennsylvania at this time and with only Democrats minimally creates the appearance that politics are in play.
The seemingly hypocritical actions with Zelenskyy and the Biden administration, in contrast to the impeachments of former president Trump, prove what we at FGGAM have been saying for years now – politics is the playground of the devil! Even what seems good on the surface can be cleverly used and manipulated to achieve political goals under the cover or appearance of a differing or combined objective (read: attempted plausible deniability).
Politics are often unavoidable and civil government is ordained of God and necessary to maintain societal order in a fallen world; however, when we place too much trust in politics, turning it into something more important than worshiping Jesus and walking out our daily lives in the truth of the scriptures, we have just made politics an idol.
Like most things in life, political issues are not matters of “either/or” but rather, a matter of how do we prioritize and balance the things of this world with our relationship with the Lord?
The answer? The Lord always comes first! If we are to be effective in anything, including the wisdom to discern truth and how to participate in politics in a godly manner – even if our involvement is limited to voting – we need to first and routinely seek the wisdom found in the scriptures and directly from the Holy Spirit!
The bible tells us that true wisdom comes from God and that it is pure, peaceful, merciful and sincere, and without selfish ambition (political or otherwise):
James 3:13-18 (NLT)
True Wisdom Comes from God
“If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”
The bible also tells us that we are to fear the Lord, not to be impressed with ourselves, to flee from evil, and whether in politics or otherwise, to walk with wise men and woman:

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, [b]ut the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
