The United States is once again threatening to withhold military aid to Israel.

Like a broken record, the Biden administration feels that it somehow has the right to tell Israel, a free and sovereign nation fighting a seven-front, existential war against terrorist organizations and the leading supporter of terrorism in the region, Iran, what it may and may not attack in its war against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.  Let’s not forget that the Islamic Republic of Iran recently launched not one, but two missile attacks against Israel!

Mainstream media is currently full of reports that the United States has reportedly told Israel that it must not attack Iran’s nuclear program nor its oil-related facilities.  This brings to mind the obvious question, why not?

The destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities would benefit the whole world, and any negative impact on its oil wells and production facilities would hit Iran where it hurts the most, its pocketbook.

Perhaps the United States is concerned that any attack on Iran’s oil production facilities would result in higher fuel prices for Americans (even if only temporarily), although a more cynical perspective would be the concern about political ‘damage’ that such an attack would have on certain electoral hopes in the upcoming General Election next month.

Despite indisputable and continuing evidence that the Hamas and Hezbollah organizations operate within, adjacent to, and underneath civilian buildings, homes and even medical facilities and schools, and that Hamas unapologetically uses Palestinian civilians and hostages kidnapped on October 7, 2023 as human shields, the Biden administration is (yet again) threatening to withhold military aid to Israel via an arms embargo if Israel doesn’t immediately facilitate enhanced distribution of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Humanitarian aid is a hallmark of Western nations’ approach to warfare; however, in Gaza, attempts to provide such aid have proven somewhat infeasible and would, arguably, extend the war by inhibiting the final stages of the Israel Defense Forces’ operations to fully destroy Hamas holdouts, and as demonstrated during earlier humanitarian aid efforts, would be substantially hijacked by Hamas for its own use.  Similar to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Palestinian people have allowed Hamas to so fully integrate into their day-to-day lives, government and infrastructure, that it’s nearly impossible to coordinate any relief effort without Hamas interference.

This writer acknowledges the scriptural command of God to pray for and love even our enemies, but walking in godly truth and wisdom is also necessary.  If there is one thing missing in this whole situation, it’s remembering and acknowledging that the war was thrust upon Israel due to the hatred and actions of Hamas itself, a terrorist organization voted for by the very population being disrupted as a result of the war – the Palestinian people.  The ‘blame’ is not Israel’s to shoulder.  It is the direct result of the longstanding hatred of Israel, the Jewish people, and the terrorism perpetrated by Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran – sparked most recently by Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023.

Lord have mercy!  The suffering is unimaginable.  Look what the evil one, through Hamas, has brought upon the Palestinian people:

The Christian Broadcasting Network (“CBN”) is reporting today (10/16/2024) that U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III sent a letter to top Israeli officials, warning that Israel has 30 days to seriously improve Gaza’s humanitarian aid crisis or it could face a U.S. arms embargo.

In response, former U.S. Ambassador David M. Friedman was sharply critical of the Biden administration’s decision, calling it “repugnant,” and wrote that “Israel is fighting a war on seven fronts against terrorist forces that show no respect for humanity, law or morality, and Biden/Harris/Blinken/Austin are threatening to hold off assistance to Israel unless Israel increases ‘humanitarian aid’ that invariably just extends the war and is hijacked by Hamas.”

The Associated Press (“AP News”) reported yesterday (10/15/2024) that according to the letter sent by Blinken and Austin, Israel needs to increase the level of aid getting into Gaza by at least 350 trucks per day; institute additional humanitarian pauses; and provide increased security for humanitarian sites in order for Israel to continue to ‘qualify’ for foreign military financing.  The letter reportedly gave Israel 30 days to respond.

According to White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby, the letter was not meant as a “threat,” but was simply meant to “reiterate the sense of urgency we feel and the seriousness with which we feel it, about the need for an increase, a dramatic increase, in humanitarian assistance.”

[NOTE:  It is unclear to this writer how any correspondence threatening an arms embargo in the midst of an ongoing seven-front war could be legitimately interpreted in any manner other than a threat.]

As a reminder, and as this writer recently stated in an earlier FGGAM article, it is impressive and refreshing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown no wavering in his stated goals to end the scourge of Iranian, Hezbollah and Hamas terrorism upon Israel and its citizens.

Unfortunately, Netanyahu’s determination and position often stands in contrast to the United States, much of the European Union, the International Criminal Court, and the United Nations, which consistently speak or rule against Israel’s warfighting operations and which desire to impose sanctions or criminal charges against Israel – revealing various degrees of support or ‘understanding’ for the terrorism put forth by Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.

War mongering is not the point nor the answer.  The Answer is Jesus.  The love of Christ changes hearts; however, the presence of the evil one is very real and must be acknowledged and addressed by those who know the Truth!

If we are looking for peace, then we must seek Jesus!  The bible tells us that the government will rest upon the shoulder of the Prince of Peace:

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
“For unto us a Child is born, [u]nto us a Son is given; [a]nd the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

The bible urges us to pray for those in high positions:

1 Timothy 2:1-3 (ESV)
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior…”.

And, the bible reminds us that we (including presidents, prime ministers, ambassadors and kings) are to seek the wisdom of God in all our ways, as the wisdom of the world is foolishness in comparison:

Proverbs 2:6 (Amplified Bible)
“For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; [f]rom His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

1 Corinthians 3:18-19 (NKJV)
“Let no one deceive himself.  If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God [emphasis mine].  For it is written, ‘He catches the wise in their own craftiness…’”.

James 1:5 (NKJV)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
