For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

How do we cling to hope?

You must start with trust. Trusting in God is key to clinging to hope. On our own, we cannot do it and stay in tact.

Without Christ, we will fail immediately. We can try to be faithful and good servants, but the moment we hit the hard times, we fall apart, we get scared, worried and fear comes upon us.

Remember the disciples on the boat, they had their eyes on the storm and not on Christ and their faith was flailing.

Trust is a necessary action if we’re to overcome the constant fear of losing the battle.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

First, we must go directly to God and park it there.

Repentance is also key. Repentance for not having faith that God would do what he said he would.

Repentance for trying to do it on our own. Because no matter the situation, nobody can take care of it better than, faster than  and as permanent as God can.

Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

Matthew 3:8

Sin creeps in when we doubt the sovereignty of God and when we let anger take control-hence repentance.

Now, how do we move from coming to complete trust in God and start clinging to hope in Him?

Scripture tells us that we should search for wisdom as we’re searching for a hidden treasure. Leaving no stone unturned!

Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.

Proverbs 2:4

This will mean diving into scripture on a daily basis.

Pick a time you’re not easily distracted.

We seek God through prayer, through scripture, through fasting and through studying.

Look, seek, ask and keep doing it until you’re at peace and freedom comes.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6

This means that every single time the issues that are bothering you start to creep in, you must run to your tool box ( this is where you’re storing the things you need to help you cope) such as; prayer, scripture, good thoughts, an accountability partner, and anything positive you can think of.

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 4:23

Memorizing scripture is also beneficial, as you can quote it on demand. I have found this to be extremely helpful.

Remember also that sometimes these hard circumstances might seem bad, that’s because Satan is planting seeds of fear, doubt and unbelief in your mind and that’s to make you tremble and doubt God.

His goal is to ruin your day or your life with so much pain that you run and hide, rather than running to God.

So, the issues may not be as bad as you think.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!

Psalm 20:4

Many Blessing’s,

Connie
