Empowered By His Love…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Recently, I was with some folks at a meeting. I heard the saying several times throughout the days there, these are my kind of people. They cared for each other deeply and would do anything for each other. I too felt like these were my kind of people. One lady would get up and go stand in line at 6:30 AM to get a seat near the front. She saved another seat, and that seat was for me. I never met this lady before until that day, the day she saved my seat. Another person came up to me and asked ” do you remember me” as I tried with everything I had to remember. It was at a meeting several years ago, I had met the same beautiful person.
It made me think this morning about unity. There are so many things that divide us in this world. When God looks at us, he says these are my kind of people. The kind I died for. He tells us where there is unity he commands a blessing. We can be different in our likes and dislikes, votes, decisions, but we must remember the most important thing. We are all God’s people. Some haven’t come to know him yet, some may choose never too. He gave us all free will. We need to walk in love with people. If we can’t, we must walk away.
Are you ready for a good day? Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you for another day to walk in love with your people. Show us how to do this better God. I think we all could say we have failed in this area at times. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 tells us that love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Father, empower us to walk in love today. We want to be your kind of people. Amen.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:34-35)
