The Jewish News Syndicate reports that Palestinian civilians evacuating intense fighting in the northern Gaza Strip are being shot by Hamas terrorists trying to prevent them from leaving, according to Corporal Shai Gilboa, a medic in Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”).
Cpl. Gilboa was interviewed by Israel’s Channel 12 and said that Hamas is now resorting to gunfire to prevent Palestinian civilians from heeding Israeli orders to evacuate to designated safe zones. She said that Palestinian civilians “smile at us; they wave at us; and they curse Hamas in front of us.”
Last week, the IDF reported that Hamas terrorists were preventing Palestinian civilians in Jabaliya from evacuating to humanitarian zones. The IDF released a recording of a Palestinian civilian who stated that “the problem is that when we follow the army’s instructions and try to go, there are people who come out against us and start hitting us with sticks, telling us ‘go back, go back.'”

So, this is what it has come to… The desperation is apparently setting in that Hamas is not going to prevail in its goals of wiping out the Jewish people and the country of Israel, and is having to face the reality that its infrastructure (e.g., tunnels and cooperating citizen businesses, hospitals, schools and even private homes), personnel, and its ability to conduct military operations, is quickly coming to an end as Israel is destroying the leadership elements of both Hamas and Hezbollah.
Hamas, being completely spiritually deceived, has become the hands and feet of the evil one. Its militants are not only using Palestinian civilians as human shields, but they are beating and killing the civilians they supposedly represent to PREVENT them from fleeing to safety!
This is the evil associated with false gods, and totalitarian and communist governments. Remember the former East Germany? Following WWII, many persons were shot to death as they desperately attempted to cross over the Iron Curtain to freedom in West Germany. The same was true for the former Soviet Union. You didn’t just leave the Soviet Union or even stray very far from your own home without official government papers authorizing your travel. The same is still true for those who might desire to flee from North Korea into South Korea. Something is very wrong with any country that has to close its border and use deadly force to prevent its own people from leaving!

My brothers and sisters, let’s continue to pray that this scourge of evil is ended quickly, justly and compassionately. Israel has every right to defend its country and its citizens or residents, but the non-militant Palestinian citizens (children, women and men), as children also made in the very image and likeness of God, deserve the opportunity to live their lives without war, hunger, disease, squalor and a culture of death destroying their dreams and goals. The Palestinian people so desperately need to know the love of God and the salvation found only in Christ Jesus!
True freedom is not found in militantism nor the wisdom of the world. Freedom (or liberty) comes by the Spirit of the Lord in our lives once we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus!
