BREAKING NEWS
NBC News reports HERE that Hamas’ leader and mastermind of the October 7, 2023 massacre, Yahya Ibrahim Hassan Sinwar, was killed this week during an Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) operation in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
Sinwar was declared Hamas’ new political head in August 2024 following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh. Sinwar’s death is a significant blow to Hamas and its supporters — and is a major coup for Israel, as it fights to destroy Hamas’ hold over the Palestinian people living in Israel’s Gaza Strip (and the West Bank).
All Israel News reports HERE that Hamas’ leader and architect of the October 7, 2023 massacre, Yahya Ibrahim Hassan Sinwar, was killed this week by IDF soldiers during a chance encounter in the town of Rafah, and that none of the hostages still being held in Gaza were harmed in the firefight resulting in Sinwar’s death.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, in a message sent to his colleagues and cited by Israeli media, stated that “[t]he arch-murderer Yahya Sinwar, who is responsible for the massacre and atrocities of October 7, was killed today by IDF soldiers. This is a great military and moral achievement for Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the evil axis of extreme Islam led by Iran.”
The first official hint that Sinwar was dead came from Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who posted a reference to Leviticus 26:7 on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) HERE, stating that “[y]ou will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.”
Leviticus 26:7 (New English Translation)
“You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.”
