Soul-searching over unheeded warnings follow Helene’s destruction. Plus! STOP the conspiracy theories!

The weather service reached back to 1916 for a precedent, correctly predicting Helene would rank among the “most significant weather events” the Asheville, North Carolina, area had ever seen. Those who spread rumors damage the soul of others.

I am really sick and tired of politicians making this disaster about politics! Horrible! Will America ever become civil again? It will if it comes back to God. The conspiracy theories are growing. My goodness, get a life! Those who spread rumors damage the soul of others. Misinformation is rampant more than ever with it being so close to the election. Lies are pouring out of many mouths. This dumbing down of America has been going on for years and it is getting worse. Lord have mercy. It seems to this old news reporter/Pastor, that many Americans are teaching their children that is is okay to lie. Our political system is full of lies. The two party system is beyond broken. The lies are thicker than mud. When people lie all the time, it becomes part of their soul, they do not know right from wrong. Back in the day we vetted the politicians with the Word of God? What happened Pastors?

George Barna: “People have become more selfish, churches have become less influential, pastors have become less Bible-centric”

Proverbs 12:22
Says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but they that deal truly are His delight”

The Guardian Reports:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) put up a webpage this week to knock down the swirl of rumors it has faced – a sign of the increased myths. The American Red Cross posted on social media to dispel various falsehoods about its work. Members of Congress and state emergency management services have issued statements to insist they are working around the clock on disaster response. Elected officials who serve the area have asked constituents not to spread rumors and instead help each other.

Kevin Corbin, a Republican state senator from North Carolina, posted on Facebook a plea to his followers: “Friends can I ask a small favor? Will you all help STOP this conspiracy theory. More Here

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Before Hurricane Helene’s landfall last week, the National Weather Service began an all-out blitz to alert emergency planners, first responders and residents across the Southeast that the storm’s heavy rains and high winds could bring disaster hundreds of miles from the coast.

Warnings blared phrases such as “URGENT,” “life threatening” and “catastrophic” describing the impending perils as far inland as the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Smartphones buzzed with repeated push alerts of flash floods and dangerous winds. States of emergency were declared from Florida to Virginia.  And the weather service reached back to 1916 for a precedent, correctly predicting Helene would rank among the “most significant weather events” the Asheville, North Carolina, area had ever seen. More Here
