Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in his wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of his glory and grace.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus means we trust him. The minute we take our eyes off Him and look to our circumstances instead, that is the minute we begin to lose our faith and trust in Him.

“And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”

Ezekiel 39:29

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Keeping our eyes fixed on Christ, in the middle of hard times can be very difficult. When life seems to be peaceful, secure and going our way, we are able to stay focused on God a lot more.

But the moment it turns from peaceful to stressful, it’s difficult to stay sane some times.

How can we keep your eyes on Jesus through these hard times?

First thing we should do is to focus all of our attention on God.  He should become the center of our attention.

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

Psalm 31:24

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.”

Deuteronomy 11:18

Your relationship with Christ is the most important part of your life, the most important thing. In Him, there is everything you will ever need to help you through hard seasons in life. Which we all encounter from time-to-time.

Taking our eyes off of Jesus is the most dangerous thing we could ever do. It’s like taking our eyes off the road. Even for one second, it could be fatal.

God longs for you to know him intimately. Seek his face.

Many Blessings,

Connie
