Fox News reports that after halting donations to his alma mater last year, David Magerman, a venture capitalist and philanthropist, has redirected $5 million to Israeli universities instead of the University of Pennsylvania, citing the Ivy League institution’s refusal to address antisemitism on campus.
Magerman came to this decision after witnessing the anti-Israel protests and antisemitism permeating U.S. college campuses following Hamas’ attack against Israel on October 7, 2023. He will, reportedly, give $1 million grants to five institutions of higher learning across Israel, including Tel Aviv University, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Bar-Ilan University and the Jerusalem College of Technology.
Magerman told Fox News, in part, that his plan is to “redirect my philanthropic efforts, going forward, largely to Israel. I don’t see much value generated by giving to American universities. [The goal of American Ivy League schools], it seems, is to indoctrinate their students to question the validity of Western civilization, to question the value of the Founding Fathers and to criticize Western society.”

My brothers and sisters, it’s been said many times, but what on earth would cause U.S. students, academic scholars and professors to support Hamas and its murderous rampage upon the Israeli population, and retain that viewpoint a full year later?
Lord have mercy!
The spiritual eyes of many have been blinded by the evil one and their hearts hardened to the truth of the goodness of God:
Psalm 146:8 (Amplified Bible)
“The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; [t]he Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; [t]he Lord loves the righteous [the upright in heart].”
1 John 2:10-11 (NKJV)
“He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.”
The bible tells us that there is only one true God, and that salvation leading to eternal life is available only for those who believe upon the name of Jesus:
Romans 10:11-13 (NKJV)
“For the Scripture says, ‘[w]hoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved [emphasis mine].’”
Acts 4:12 (Amplified Bible)
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
I make no apology about this, as the bible is exceedingly clear that the only way to be saved from perdition (because of our sin) is through faith in Jesus Christ, who shed His blood as the propitiation for our sin (the once-and-for-all sacrifice) at the cross of Calvary:
John 3:16-18 (ESV)
“For God so loved the world, that [H]e gave [H]is only Son, that whoever believes in [H]im should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send [H]is Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through [H]im. Whoever believes in [H]im is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God [emphasis mine].”
John 14:6 (NKJV)
“Jesus said to [Thomas], ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me [emphasis mine].’”
1 John 2:1-2 (NKJV)
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins [emphasis mine], and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
