Have you lost your salt? Is politics your God? Got Questions states: Jesus used the concepts of salt and light a number of different times to refer to the role of His followers in the world. One example is found in Matthew 5:13: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Salt had two purposes in the Middle East of the first century. Because of the lack of refrigeration, salt was used to preserve food, especially meat, which would quickly spoil in the desert environment. Believers in Christ are preservatives to the world, preserving it from the evil inherent in the society of ungodly men whose unredeemed natures are corrupted by sin (Psalm 14:3; Romans 8:8). We are called to build bridges of love and trust with an unbelieving America. Just 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview. Brothers and Sisters, No one wants to see your hate. You will tear down what is left of Christianity in America. You are a fool if you think by posting hate on social media will build up the Kingdom of God. Who are you trying to impress?
Always vet your candidates with God’s Word. I was taught that years and years ago……..God will tell you who to vote for. I had righteous anger over the state of America yesterday. Then I fell into humility and grief. I am sick and tired of dirty politics and all the dirty on social media. It shows a low intelligence. Foolish. Look in your Bible and see the meaning of FOOL.
This is the worst Presidential election ever for me. Both parties are throwing God’s babies under the bus. I never thought I would see the GOP attempt to get on the throne and not protect God’s babies. I grieve over the 20,000 babies aborted here in New Mexico. So many Pastors are silent. It is New Mexico’s own holocaust. What a shame. SHAME! A ‘PALL’ COVERS NEW MEXICO! 20,950 Babies Lost to Abortion I am neither a Republican or Democrat. I dropped the GOP years ago and never have been a Democrat. Why? They both are full of Biblical corruption. Many of them spew anger and hate dirty words, dirty jokes, very demeaning, and they threaten others. This does not fit into my Bible. Sadly there are no role models in American politics for my adult children and grandchildren.
I have warned about this America failure, the downward trend of Christianity for years and years, since 1997, first Dewey’s Daily Cup, KKIM Christian Radio and and now FGGAM going on 13 years! Glory to God in the Highest!) I am the odd ball I know. I do not sell ice cream, we present a Biblical Worldview. We do not worry about the size of our congregation, our popularity, etc…..Just think, just 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview. JUST! 37% of Pastors have a Biblical Worldview! Barna Research. Beyond a disaster. George Barna: “People have become more selfish, churches have become less influential, pastors have become less Bible-centric”
Righteous anger is a controlled anger that’s motivated by a sense of injustice or moral lapse, and is directed towards good ends. It’s different from anger that’s caused by something more personal, like an insult
- Tempered by reason and wisdom: Righteous anger is not unbridled, but rather is balanced by reason and wisdom.
- Accompanied by humility: Righteous anger is accompanied by a sense of humility and grief.
- Moves towards good: Righteous anger is directed towards good ends, and is not motivated by self-centered passions or bitterness.
- Acts swiftly: Righteous anger is expressed swiftly in the face of injustice
This is an excellent article by The Christian Post.
During this very animated and contentious election season there have been numerous attempts to frighten and mislead voters with the specter of a theocratic movement they have labelled “Christian Nationalism.”
Considerable effort has been expended to paint many people of religious faith (particularly Evangelical Protestants and conservative Catholics) as seeking to run roughshod over our precious First Amendment religious liberty protections and safeguards.
This is nothing more than a political scare tactic, seeking to elevate certain fringe groups to a level of influence they do not have, and God willing, will never have.
On the contrary, the overwhelming majority of Evangelicals, conservative Catholics and other people of faith believe it is their obligation and duty to bring their faith convictions to bear on the moral issues of the day and to seek to influence their fellow citizens to do the “right thing” in terms of public virtue.
After all, as I pointed out last week in the Christian Post (“America has been a faith-based initiative from the beginning“), this has been our tradition and heritage from the Pilgrims onward.
The following articles “flesh out” the issues involved. The authors, Christians who have labored in the public square as salt and light for many years, will help readers to focus clearly on the issues involved and why it is our duty to be salt and light in society.
Christian nationalism: What it is, what it isn’t and why it matters — a guide for people of faith
I have been very concerned about the downward trend of the readership of the abortion articles we post here at FGGAM. I have felt for a long time that Christians are failing God on this issue. When is the last time you have seen a post by a Pastor defending life? A sermon? Taking the issue to the Public square? What are they afraid of?
It seems to me that the DEMS, GOP, and many Christians are playing political football with God’s babies. Shame. This causes me to have righteous anger .
OPINION: The Satanic Temple at least is honest about abortion
FGGAM Shares a Biblical Worldview Everyday:
“The Biblical worldview says there is a God—One who is personal, powerful and caring—who created the world and everything in it. It states unequivocally that man is created in God’s image, living in essence as God’s co-regent over creation. Mankind—born and unborn, rich and poor, able and disabled—has intrinsic worth. Almighty God is a sovereign God, ruler over nations, states, empires, and governments. He is to be worshiped and obeyed through the precepts and principles revealed in His infallible Word. He not only exists, but He is sovereign over all of history according to His wisdom and purposes, and He is intimately involved in every aspect of life.”
Everyone should read this article and prayerfully contemplate what is being said. As one who attends church every week (for years), in addition to lots of various musical and community ministry events, I can tell you that I’ve never been present to hear a pastor once (beyond a passing reference) preach about the evil that is abortion – other than Pastor Moede. Those who refuse to bring up the subject are quick to invoke the suffering of others – not to minimize the needs and hurting in war-ravaged lands and the homeless or addicted – with the point seemingly being to present a counterbalance to justify not speaking about abortion (which goes beyond hurting or personal choice, as its express purpose is not to heal, but to kill a living human being). I’ve seen church leaders, as recently as yesterday, post support for the Harris ticket, referring to the entire GOP as hateful. The term ‘Christian Nationalism’ is used in the pejorative 99% of the time and so often, the only conclusion I can draw from what I’ve read is that if one considers God to have blessed one’s nation, then that must be a problem. Well, the Bible is full of discussion about nations! Talking about Christian Nationalism seems to be ‘code’ to allow for criticism or the assuaging of concern over one’s own sin, or the sins of a nation. Certainly, some may make politics into an idol, but civil government, on this side of heaven, is necessary and God-ordained (see Romans 13). When we vote, we have the opportunity to empower those who stand most closely for Jesus and Christian values, as we are not electing our new ‘pastors.’ The truth of the scriptures, not our personal, daily needs, desires or perceptions, should drive our voting. Praise Jesus forevermore!
