When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.
Proverbs 29:2
Election time can be hard because of the division that can come from it.
Two different sides and two different beliefs.
This is something that will always happen I’m afraid. I’ve heard both sides of the argument and I try to research most issues on my own. My main source of information comes from scripture, of course.
I know I’m not voting to elect a pastor, but rather the leader of the free world. And I’m also not voting on personality but the person I feel best to uphold the biblical issues I deem so important. I believe for me personally, it’s clear cut.
That being said, we must keep our eyes on Christ and not let this time shake us.
I understand the anxiety that can come and the fear of the unknown that follows. But it is imperative that we act merciful and stay humble.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
Hebrews 13:18
And of course, pray hard. Pray without ceasing!
If we want godly wisdom and insight, we must rebuild the foundations of our country, and that begins with repentance.
Choose some well-respected men from each tribe who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.
Deuteronomy 1:13
“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.”
Proverbs 11:4
Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
Daniel 2:20-21
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity”
1 Timothy 2:1-2
We are to pray for the leaders of our nations. Whether good or wise leadership or deceptive and evil leaders. Always pray for Gods mercy, grace and guidance.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.
Isaiah 5:20
Ask God for wisdom as you vote!
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
