The weather is crazy, here in New Mexico we have a snowstorm today. California continues to have wildfires. This year, New Mexico has seen drought, wildfires, floods, tornadoes, and now a huge snow storm. We even have had earthquakes, beleive it or not. which are not uncommon here. Small earthquakes occur somewhere in New Mexico everyday, but no earthquake larger than magnitude (M) 6.2 has occurred within the New Mexico part of the rift since 1849, and prob- ably no damaging event occurred in the previous few hundred years, based on oral history. CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) — A fast-moving wildfire fueled by heavy winds was tearing through a community northwest of Los Angeles for a second day Thursday after destroying dozens of homes and forcing thousands of residents to flee when it exploded in size in only a few hours.

The Mountain Fire prompted evacuation orders Wednesday for more than 10,000 people as it threatened 3,500 structures in suburban communities, ranches and agricultural areas around Camarillo, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. The fire was at 0% containment late Wednesday, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. More Here
