BREAKING NEWS
The Jerusalem Post reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that a ceasefire agreement has been reached between Israel and Hezbollah, which takes effect at 4:00 AM tomorrow morning (11/27/2024).
A joint statement from U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron was released, stating, in part, that the ceasefire agreement would provide the conditions necessary for a return to calm in Israel.

Here is a YouTube video of Netanyahu’s address to Israel:
The Jewish Press reports that Netanyahu also stated, in part, the following during today’s address to Israel:
“With the United States’ full understanding, we maintain full freedom of military action. If Hezbollah violates the agreement and tries to arm itself, we will attack. If it tries to rebuild terrorist infrastructure near the border, we will attack. If it launches a rocket, if it digs a tunnel, if it brings in a truck carrying rockets, we will attack. … They tell me Hezbollah will be quiet for a year or two, grow stronger and then attack us. But Hezbollah will be in violation of the [ceasefire] agreement not only if it fires on us [but] it will be in violation of the agreement if it obtains weapons to fire at us in the future. And we will respond forcefully to any violation.”

According to a report by All Israel News, Netanyahu outlined in his pre-recorded video address to Israel three reasons justifying the ceasefire agreement:
- Allowing Israel to focus on the “Iranian threat” (without any elaboration);
- Allowing for a full renewal and replenishment of Israel’s military forces, weapons and munitions; and
- Allowing for the separation of fronts and the isolation of Hamas.

My brothers and sisters, there are reports that mayors of the towns along Israel’s northern border are dissatisfied with the terms and/or timing of the ceasefire agreement, in light of the fact that Hezbollah has not been destroyed or substantially defeated yet and the return of Israeli citizens to their northern homes will not happen immediately.
Regardless, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the United States, France, and representatives of Hezbollah, and presumably Lebanon’s official government, have agreed to give peace a chance. This is a positive development, with the caveat and understanding that Israel has made no promises to refrain from engaging Hezbollah again if the agreement fails.
FGGAM will update this situation as circumstances warrant.
