Thankful Still

Thankful still

I Corinthians 15:57-58 NKJV

[57] But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Has the Lord ever failed you?

Has there been a prayer that He didn’t answer?

Has there been a situation that as you cried out you feel like He wasn’t there?

Did you still give Him thanks.

Many people aren’t feeling so blessed right now. Much less thankful.

Life’s hurts and struggles make it hard to find thankfulness.

But there is beauty in Christ that is undeniable!

There are only five words for a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

Five words that regardless of what’s happening in this world, in our government and even in our own lives that should make us wake up every morning with joy and hope in our hearts.

Something to be thankful for even when it seems like there’s nothing to be thankful for.

Five words that should make us want to fall to our knees and bow our heads and give thanks and praise to a Mighty and Holy God!

These five words have changed humanity. These five words have saved countless lives and souls from the fires of Hell.

These five words, regardless of our situation, give us assurance that there is a Savior.

That we have hope of Heaven.

Looking forward to an eternal life, a house that is being built especially for us.

Where the streets are pure gold and the presence of the Almighty God will be forever before us. One day this life will be over and we will meet Jesus face to face. What a day that will be!

These five words,

THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST!

Thanksgiving has to become something far greater. Something deeper. If we can learn and understand today what Thanksgiving really is, how we give thanks and why we give thanks, I truly believe that our lives will change!

Then by the power and might of the Holy Spirit we will be stirred in our souls. Then we can learn how to live a Thanksgiving lifestyle!

The Cross of Jesus Christ

The reason we give thanks.

If it hadn’t been for the Cross, for His Death and His Resurrection where would we be?

To look and think about what He accomplished on our behalf.

How He conquered Sin and Death!

To give you hope in the hopeless times.

The Cross of Christ should give you joy when it seems that there’s nothing to be joyful for.

The Cross of Christ can give you rest when you can no longer bear the things of this world.  To know that He still lives, He still reigns and He is the One that is in control of all things and is still available, bring comfort to the heart and soul!

But most importantly that one day we will have the opportunity to thank Him face to face for giving us eternal life!

When did Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior stop being worthy of our highest thanks and our deepest, heartfelt praise ?

Have we allowed the situations in our lives to determine the amount of Thanksgiving we give Him?

Our God saves, He is our only Hope to be saved and His mercy endures forever!

Sometimes it’s hard to be thankful for the hurt and through sorrow.

I have to remind myself that it is Jesus that wipes every tear from every eye. It is Jesus that comforts and brings peace to the brokenhearted.

It is Jesus that that makes a way when it seems like there is none.

It is Jesus that prepares a place.

And it is Jesus that will welcome me home!

Thank you Jesus!

Fall at His feet.

Rest in His lap.

Believe His Word and Promises.

Find your Hope in Him.

Then you will always have a reason to give thanks!
