The Gift That Never Ceases…
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. What a weekend this has been. Angel’s Believe Ministries is preparing for an outreach to raise money for our dental clinic here in the star city. We had so much fun as we shopped for the children’s gifts to put under the tree. I think I felt like a child myself. I am so thankful for Christmas; I am so thankful for Jesus Christ.
My memory took me back to the remembrance of a broken typewriter that I received as a child. Someone donated the gift I would receive, and it was broken. It’s funny what is in the recesses of our minds.
It was early, two in the morning on Saturday I was awakened to pray. I began to pray for a ministry that was holding their retreat. I penned a short prayer for their love letter box. Then off to a day of shopping for our tree. After our shopping spree, I made my way north to put the letters in their box. It was a pretty full day.
Sunday came, and the pastor spoke about love being the greatest gift from his passage 1 Corinthians 13. He told us how all the other gifts will cease, but this gift never would. I so want to love like that. I tell my Heavenly Father, the gift I want is a heart like his. The gift of love, the gift that never ceases.
Then I remembered the call I received earlier in the week and a promise I made. The individual accidently tuned into my radio program and was captured by my voice. She wanted me to pray for her. I quickly shifted gears and turned my car towards her town. It was there I heard this song for the first time, The Greatest Gift by Andrea, Matteo & Virginia Bocelli.
She gave me a copy of a writing someone gave her, The Time Is Now. The dear woman, a total stranger did not know I was asking God about his timing on some things.
Isn’t God good? Let’s Pray:
Father, all these gifts we operate in are so needed in the world. Someday these gifts will end. I am thankful for the gift that never ceases, the gift of love.
Father, thank you for family, for friends and may we have opportunities today to operate in the gift that never ends, the gift of love. Fill our hearts to overflowing this morning with your love. Amen.
