UPDATE

KRQE News 13 (Albuquerque, NM) reports that at approximately 10:00 AM (MST), the New Mexico State Police responded to the rail yards at 603 Roundhouse Road, Gallup, New Mexico, where a fuel tanker had exploded.

The fire has been contained, evacuations are being lifted, and the tanker truck’s driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

BREAKING NEWS

KOAT Action 7 News (Albuquerque, NM) reports that according to the Gallup Police Department, there has been an explosion and fire between Highway 66 and Interstate 40 near downtown Gallup, New Mexico.

Police say that Highway 55 at 2nd and 3rd Streets has been closed.  Evacuations are reportedly underway.  No further information is available at this time.
